Perspective:

Bellichick makes 12 million a year

Gruden just signed a 10 year 100 million contract

Pete Carrol makes 11 million a year

Sean Payton is at 9.75 million per year

John Harbaugh is at 9 million per year

Sean McVay 8.5 million per year

Dan Quinn, Andy Reid and Mike Tomlin are at 8 million per year

Rivera made 7.75 per year with us.

This deal floors at 8.57 per year and can reach 10 if incentives are reached.

As mentioned earlier, the salary cap is not affected by this, it seems to be the going rate for highly coveted coaches and it was the bid Tepper ultimately chose to make to get his guy.

He’s paying Ron 7.75 million this year to not be here.  The length seems long but again, Tepper gets his target. Only time will tell if he’s the right guy or not.

One note on the #Giants: Matt Rhule called them before signing his 6-year deal with the #Panthers and gave them the opportunity to match and lure him to get on the plane. They declined and hired Joe Judge instead.

One one hand I hate that we were his second choice, on the other this proves Tepper did what he had to, to get his guy.

What I take from this is that now that we have Tepper, Charlotte can compete with major markets like NY for top talent and WIN. Can you imagine beating out a large market team for a coach with Mister Jeans Day at the helm?

Only if there was some sort of nepotism involved
