oh look! buildings!

No, just clouds that resemble buildings, to an imaginative mind.

Carry on, you're a breath of fresh air.

(side comment to all the doctors on here:
Did you hear about the fellow whose entire left side was cut off?  He's all right now.)

So...if THEY are confident that Cam will be ready to return this spring (and show me how anything the last 24 hours indicates they have doubts), then why do you, and all the many other orthopedic surgeons on this site, feel so sure he can't be??

Smh.

Someone who can’t separate emotions with facts when it comes to the Cam situation. I’ll pass.

If pass means check, I'll check, too -- but reserve the right to check raise. (expressed with a deadpan face, and little emotion.)

Isn't that the whole point? Deciding whether or not you're going to commit $20M to a player not yet recovered from a surgery versus drafting the next QB? That's my only point in this- whether or not a lisfranc is career ending is a medical opinion. But a lot less serious foot injury ended my triathlon days a few years sooner than I planned.

None of what you are saying indicates it is career threatening. Hell, that small sample study pretty much showed a 93% success rate as far as returning. The only thing in question is whether his career continues with us or not. That shoulder is far, far, far, far more concerning than the foot.

Healthy again? I know Miami passed on him but Brees didn’t miss any time when he got traded from SD to NO. In the 15 years before the thumb injury this year, he missed 4 games. 2 of the 4 were rested due to not needing to play week 17.

Health for Brees wasn’t really ever a question. Yes, there was a shoulder incident, but Brees had missed 2 games due to health in 15 years (first two with SD) before this year.

Comparing Cam’s missed 17 games in 4 years with shoulder and foot issues to Brees is silly. There is a legitimate concern about Newton’s health next year and beyond.

Brees didn't get traded he signed with the Saints because they gave him a offer when Miami passed on him.. And He did have a horrific shoulder injury in San Diego before becoming a Free agent..

Drew Brees got healthy again ..

I'm thinking Cam will too if little ole Brees can

They're saying Brees dropped the ball that lead to the Viking's fumble recovery because of his thumb ...... Plus he had no long throws and his usual accuracy was off.  So I wouldn't say he "got healthy again" by any stretch of the imagination.

It's just easier to play with a rehabbed not-totally-healthy thumb injury than a rehabbed not-healthy-at-all foot injury.
