Nothing innovative about him. His last few drives on Sunday were nothing but vanilla.

I mean they won the toss and scored a TD on the first possession of OT. the game winning play where he got the nickle CB matched up with Rudolph on the outside was a stroke of brilliance.

Do people expect Stefanski to call plays as a HC ? You shouldn't judge a head coach candidate based only on his play calling, he would have help from coordinators. Which begs another question: if not the play calling, then what to look for ? How would you determine who is a good coaching candidate given we have limited information ?

The biggest hesitation for me is him never being a head coach on any level.  I however think this is a legit possibility and wouldn't be mad.  He has a lot to prove if given a HC position.  He was my early prediction so I'll stick with him for who I think we hire.

I don't get the hype around him. Like, I even understood the draw to Rhule and McCarthy to an extent, but not this guy.

Lot's of these can be these guys who stuck around teams for a while and been someone league circles keep their eyes on but don't publicize.  He managed to stick around with Brad Childress, Leslie Frazier, and now Mike Zimmer.  Consistently promoted every few seasons.  Seems like a smart guy.  So, I'm not saying he's a for sure hit but it makes sense why team's are asking about him given how he's risen within that organization.  As a fan, it's hard to really know what he brings.  The track record isn't long but there's positives.  Just matters is he has that head coach gene.  I'm unsure.

So you watch one game he has ever called and now you are an expert on him? I thought he called a terrific game. It isn't east beating the Saints in NO. He made several gutsy calls in crucial moments that we have never seen in Carolina. Overall he called a good game. His players didn't execute a lot of the plays great but you have to give some credit to the Saints for playing defense.

All I want to know is who kept running Cook outside into a wall repeatedly on the goal line and the final drives that stalled and almost gave the Saints the game?

if not for a cousins miracle, like the best pass he’s ever thrown in his life, no one would even look at Stefanski.

i mean, if that was Zimmer choice so be it— but I would have to know
