Wade Phillips released by the Rams

The more I think about this, the more it stinks. The man helped Denver win the superbowl in 2015, he was fire in 2017. Went to LA and carried them to a Superbowl last year, then he is fired this year. Something is not right here, is he kidnapping women and children or something?

Scapegoating by HC to keep his seat from getting hot.

His contract was up and he was reconsidering the direction of the franchise before this

Yeh the Rams F-d up Falcons style by tying a huge portion of their cap to 4 guys and then trading their draft picks away. Idiots.

Wade should be lucky to be out of that place.

its going back in the tank Fisher Style watch.

sean McVae, flash in the pan will be looking for a new job after next season.

man if we got Bienemy AND Wade Phillips we are Golden!

great points---I had not connected the dots.  Both teams rode their defenses to the super bowl too.

Rumors are he was devisive and toxic in Denver. Others say he just decided to go to LA because his daughter lives there. Who knows.

I wouldn’t mind getting Phillips if/when we get a young offensive minded HC.

Those kind of stats don’t really tell the full story about certain situations. Totally not against Wade coming here though, he is a hell of a coordinator.

Wade Phillips as an asst HC + DC would be perfect if Eric Bieniemy is the guy.

Would love to see if we could bring Aubrey Pleasant (LAR CB coach), Reggie Herring (DEN LB coach), and Thad Bogardus (DL assistant, has been with Phillips for years). Would have three coaches that he's worked with prior that have had continued success.

Would also like to see Eric Bieniemy bring over Rod Wilson as a potential Special Teams coach if we don't retain Blackburn. Would still like to bring Wilson on board as an ST assistant at least. I could see Joe Bleymaier (Passing Game analyst + QB assistant) joining as well given the shared history at Colorado with Bieniemy. Maybe Corey Matthaei (KC OL assistant) as well.

He would make an incredible DC for us. Pair him with a young guy to groom. He can create a nasty D and i would like to see him complete the 3-4 switch.

I don't hate him for running a competent D while we had Shula and Ron in 2015. I was there, it sucked but I would be happy to have that kind of a D. It's not his fault we showed up with the most transpartent game plan possible for a championship game. I think it is funny as hell we fire Ron and could replace his D with the one that beat him.
