This board reminds me of the pre-Cam draft cycle

"ugh we have too many holes we can't go worrying about getting a franchise QB, go get Fairley!!!"

it's remarkable how this stupid notion won't just go away despite the overwhelming makeup of the league.

If you have a chance to get a franchise QB, you get one. Lol at obsessing over whose going to anchor your LG spot.

Not In this situation...we have Cam

Your point is made for the Bengals

If you look at the actual players drafted, Ditka got the best of the deal-debatable, but the Skins did nothing with the picks.

FWIW:

1999 Washington GM:  Charley Casserly

2000 Washington GM:  Bruce Allen

Exactly what I was going to say. Other than Arrington, it was basically one big screw-up (on both sides, really).

For the record, not a fan of giving the farm away.

Burrow may not even be best QB in the draft, much less BPA.

Not to mention that going to get a franchise QB is one of the only "holes" you can't simply buy your way out of.  For most any other position, you just trade for or sign players to fit what you need.

It's hard to envision Cam still being the QB for this team in three or four seasons regardless of how he checks out with the foot. A franchise QB would be. That's what the draft is for. Top 7 picks don't come around very often, and franchise QBs don't go outside the top 12.

yeah but not hard to envision for the next 2 if healthy ...and again the Bengals need Burrow badly...

So you think Cam has two season left here?

This would take us from "big need" to "wow we literally cannot leave this draft without a QB."

LaVar Arrington is nothing?
