Saints crying foul

My wife had some business in Louisiana a few years back.  It was a legal issue.  The entire state is like that.  Louisiana corruption is a lot like Chicago corruption, and just as out in the open but less advertised to the rest of the world.

I'm reminded of an old saying that seems to apply, "if God was going to give the world an enema, this is where He would stick the tube."

There is actually an extension of the NY mafia in New Orleans

I'm sure these were not those people.  Let's just say the people she encountered were probably not going to pass the minimum required competency test for such an organization.

I think the people she was dealing with were in Baton Rouge.

That sumbitch.  If someone who named himself Jim Bob Cooter starts ripping your kids names, you probably have spent too much time in the Bayou.

The refs made no call.

It was a scoring play, which means it is automatically reviewed.

The NFL in NY did review the entire play and said the contact did not reach the level of a penalty, therefore, the ref's no call on the field was correct.

On the catch, Rudolph fully extended his hand to keep the defender at bay, which is supposed to be grounds for offensive pass interference, but no flag was thrown, and NFL's vice president of officiating, Al Riveron has now explained why Rudolph wasn't penalized.

During a postgame interview, Riveron said he didn't see anything that would have warranted a penalty being called.

"We looked at all angles that Fox afforded us, and Fox gave us some great views," Riveron said in the pool report. "There is contact by both players, but none of that contact rises to the level of a foul. This is consistent with what we've done all year long, we left the ruling on the field. We let it stand."

To be fair, if I was a Saints fan or this happened to the Panthers, I'd be crying foul too. It was clear Offensive Pass Interference per the rule and the Saints had no option to challenge the call. It should've been reviewed by the NFL. Rudolf is 6'5 playing against a 5'11 corner, there is no need to push off there, conceivably.

That makes it even funnier.
