Have you guys never heard of phone or Skype interviews

My original understanding (can't remember where I read it) was all three interviews with McDaniels were going to be done by VTC (Virtual Teleconference). VTC gives a higher fidelity image than Skype.

The fact that so many of you are opposed to McDaniels makes me think he is the best choice. Probably the same people that didn’t want to draft McCaffrey.

I did not.  I did not want Luke or Cam either.  If you want to know who to draft, talk to me first.

Yes, because when I'm handing control of a 200 million dollar roster over to someone, it's not important that I be physically in the room with them to get a better sense of their body language and facial expressions during the interview. I'm only going to be paying them about 10 million dollars a year and whether the team I paid several billion dollars for succeeds or fails will be due in no small part to their abilities, so it seems perfectly reasonable to take shortcuts to speed up the interview process, cause it doesn't matter enough go to the next level of thoroughness.

"Hey coach, we are searching for the next leader of our 2 billion dollar franchise and would like to interview you because we think you are a tremendous coach.  We will send you the link and hold a laptop conference after our face-to-face interview with another candidate."

Nothing says, "you are not our first choice" more than that.

What's McCaffrey done for us though .. 2017 was McCaffrey's statistical worst season but it was the only season we've had McCaffrey we made the playoffs

You are not serious here. If you are, we may have to rearrange the top 10 dumbest posts ever made on the Huddle.

Since I am not that familiar with this brand of humor, excuse my inability to distinguish this joke from an attempt at legitimate thought.

And Indeed.com?  I mean, they should gather applications, screen them, and then have some Skype screening interviews before interviewing the top 3 in Charlotte.  And references!! Do not forget to call the references.

Sorry man, just having some fun.

That’s bc Elway signed Manning. Lost to Seattle in the SB and the very next offseason he signed Demarcus Ware, Aqib Talib and TJ Ward.

Yep.  Those were two very different teams.  Hell didn’t McDaniels have Kyle Orton as his QB?

Rather have him that retreads or Bienemy. For the life of me the Bienemy this is insane. He has no history of success anywhere and is the get back guy for Reid.

Reid has arguably the most impressive coaching tree in the history of the NFL, and if not THE most, one of the most. He is a successful, longtime coach who has demonstrated significant ability to train other coaches to be successful. He is loudly declaring Bienemy to be ready to be a head coach. It is not accurate to say he has no history of success anywhere, the Chiefs at present are quite successful. Taking that into account, I'm perfectly willing to weigh Andy Reid's opinion of someone he works with day to day over a prior thin track record. As always YMMV.
