John McClain is a longtime Texans reporter and generally pretty even keeled. He's blowing his stack over this game on Twitter right now.

For the record, McClain also saved a bunch of hostages from terrorists in the Nakatome Building in L.A. several years ago.

That’s not in the rule book

Neither is having to physically take a knee; the rule just says the ball has to be dead in the end zone. The ref literally held out his hand and nodded like "toss me the ball". I think they made the right decision.

Taking a knee is downing the ball. He never downed the ball.

It was still active. There was no whistle.

I’ve never in my life seen that before.

You probably never paid any attention. It happens all the time. Ref acknowledges the returner gave himself up, flips the ball to the ref.

it was bullshit. The ref did the same exact thing in this instance.

Some of y’all are being super silly about the touchback thing.

I think it should have been a Bills touchdown, but c'est la vie.

Now, if I were a Bills fan I'd probably be pissed, especially if they wound up losing.

As a Panthers fan, it's just one of those interesting playoff moments I got to see live.
