Cam's 333 Pass Yards vs. TB - Most By Panther QB in '19

This thread is silly but it is amusing seeing the Allen fanboys coming out of the woodwork to act like we didn't actually finish with 5 wins and get blown out multiple times.

Keep hanging your hat on that win streak I guess.

Who are the Allen fanboys?  Those of us commenting that he's not the future, isn't the answer, but happened to play better than an injured Cam Newton in some games?

This is a thread about Cam throwing for more yards than our other QBs in 2019.  That's true, but noting how meaningless it is makes us fanboys? Whatever.

All I know is we sunk to the worst team in the league with Allen behind center.

Facts don't care about anyone's feelings.

Cam Newton was something like 5-15 against divisional opponents since 2015.  Does that make him the reason we have been in the cellar in the division the last few years?

So you would say unquestionably that Cam's game vs Tampa Bay was the best game of a Panthers QB in 2019?

Or would you say that there may be something more than yards at play for determining that?

Nobody is saying Allen is better than a healthy Cam.  But that isn't what this thread says.  You can continue making up crap to argue against, but we're responding to the OP here, and at least in my case, I dont' even know what moving goalposts you've established for this thread.

Oh he's absolutely had a role in that as the starter. But I think it's a little more than disingenuous to take aim at him considering people were more than fine with him being our leading rusher in 2017 after we drafted a running back in the top 10 which if we're being honest the wear and tear from that season undoubtedly sped things up to where he is now with all the injury concerns.

As far as this thread, we all saw Cam missing receivers against Tampa Bay. The foot wasn't right clearly. Was it the shoulder too? That's the question. Unfortunately we won't know much for several months.

That is the real downer about last season: we expected to have a verdict on Cam's shoulder by the end of the year.  Like most else in 2019, that didn't pan out, either.

I completely agree that the way in which we have run Cam into the ground and not built around him well has negatively influenced his success and the team's.  That is why the defensive melt down this year was so fuging frustrating.  And yet I could never blame Cam (any more than any other single player, that is) for the team doing poor against the division.

As to what I bolded, we saw it, but the OP still deemed it the best Carolina QB game of the year.  Which is asinine.  But we all hope Cam can completely recover because he is clearly better when healthy than any other option we have in the near future (and IMO that includes FAs and rookies we could draft).

Honestly I'm using this awful thread as an excuse for some early afternoon shitposting.

I am under no mistaken impressions about what the future holds for Newton in Carolina. I think we ultimately keep him for 2019 but the odds of this recent run of injuries for him suddenly turning around are pretty low. It really sucks but that's the sobering reality.
