The case for LT with pick 7

I think he might be a Solomon Thomas type though. Lots of power, lots of motor, not a ton of explosion. Thomas is a solid part of that very good SF DL, but he doesn't really make any splash plays. If he's there in the 2nd? Hell yeah. At #7? Definitely not sold on that. I think the Combine is going to be important for him and his draft status.

I see him as a Top-10 pick/first DE off the board in most places.  Also, he was on a monster truck rally since November.  His stock has been rising, and rising for about 2 months meow.

Well you have to give someone a chance if you bail on Little.  What about CB?  Jackson was second rounder who hasn't shown much.  What about WR?  Samuels is a second rounder who hasn't shown much.  I just know a second rounder needs time to develop. If we draft another T I would be OK, but we leave some other spots open.  Do we feel better about the #2 WR than Little at LT?  Do we feel better about Jackson at CB?  I think C was more of a problem than people seem to be realizing--when  the interior breaks down, everything tends to break down.

I see your point--I wish we knew more about Little before giving up on him.

I wish we knew more about him too, but we don't. As old Foxy would say, it is what it is. The new staff is going to have to evaluate him based on the tape they have which granted isn't much. If they're experienced NFL guys hopefully they were looking at LTs in last year's draft and already have notes and an opinion on him as a prospect.

Dont get me wrong--I agree you take the LT if he is a home run--we have 2 homers in this draft.  I hope Little can move to G.  If so, we can get scary with a C.  I simply hate to see us spinning our wheels-it could be like the Clausen pick--only to be followed by Cam.  But we knew Clausen sucks.  I guess my problem is that I am high on Little--just think he is raw.

Thomas went #3 overall. It didn't make him more explosive.

Even if we're comparing explosiveness,, they're quite different players and AJ just bullies guys into a bloody pulp.  Solomon is finesse.  AJ is a jackhammer.

He is more of the Arik Armstead with KK on the other side being more of the Solomon mold.  They compliment eachother quite well in  a 3-4 IMO.  The key is finding that central plug to prevent running leakage.

The guy started 36 games for an SEC team where his OL coach has 20+ years of OL coaching experience including 6 in the NFL. If he's still raw he might just not be a good OT.

Gettleman has a hog molly fetish and will almost certainly take Andrew Thomas

Unfortunately, there are no other tackles worth taking that high

I will be happy if we take either the highest rated OT or DT available.
