Panthers Focusing on 4 Candidates per report

Summary from a 50 foot view of the various podcasts I've been listening to:

Allbright - Bieniemy is the favorite

Breer - McDaniels/Ziegler package

Rapoport - McDaniels/Rhule

Also of note per Allbright on the PFN podcast - "Some candidates might not want Cam Newton but others might be intrigued......Bieniemy gets the job I can see him hanging on to Cam"

So Cam will be learning a new offense for the first time in his career? We've always run some form of Coryell from Chud to Shula to Turner.

Mike Shula is a disciple of Ray Perkins of Erhardt-Perkins fame.  He mixed in some of Chud's stuff when he first took over and added plenty of zone-read but Shula ran an E-P system.

I like Bieniemy, but does he have the clout to bring in legitimate guys at OC and DC, as well as put together the right staff? We really need someone who can build a legitimate program from the ground up and I don't know that Bieniemy can do that immediately.

Also, given that Tepper will be looking at the HC to provide input on front office decisions (Asst. GM, EVP of Football Operations, etc.)...are we certain Bieniemy has enough skin in the game to be able to do this versus a guy like McCarthy who has done it, or McDaniels who has already built a rapport with his NE comrads and would be able to bring some of them in?

That's my only drawback on Bieniemy. As a man and as a players coach he seems to have the "it" factor, so idk.

I would think Pat Shurmur would be a guy that he may call for OC. Experience working under Andy Reid.

Yeah they said McCarthy's interviews went very well too. I mean does anybody think they are going to say that was the worst interview ever lol.

I was more interested in his comments on Cam.  I don't expect they will come out and say any interviews were trash.
