The Andy Reid coaching tree

Doug Pederson -Super Bowl champion

John Harbaugh - Super Bowl Champion

Ron Rivera- NFC conference Champion

Brad Childress - Divisional Champion

Matt Nagy - Had success with a shitty qb

Sean McDermott - brought Bills to playoffs after long drought and seems to be the answer up there

Todd Bowls and Pat Shurmur have been duds. There are others I’d have to look up.

but 8 out of the 10 coaches who became head coaches were playoff coaches and two are super bowl champions.

Patriots coaching tree :poison:

Don’t fug this up Tepper

We talked about this a few weeks ago. Luther Broughton does a podcast with us on occasion, and he played for Andy Reid. And this is right when Andy first came into the league as HC. 1999/2000. He swears by that coaching tree. Not only the big names that are HC’s now, but the assistant level guys. It’s a well-oiled machine. People get caught up in the Super Bowl rings. That’s the ultimate prize. But like the OP says here, the track record with that tree is attractive. Certainly better than three winning seasons in nine years.

Mike Kafka is the quarterback coach and is considered a good prospect to make the jump to OC.

Bieniemy could try to bring him aboard, although it's said that if Bieniemy gets a head coaching job, Reid wants to keep Kafka as his replacement.

I wondered if he'd bring in Brad Childress to have someone with head coaching experience on the staff

How does Andy Reid get credit for Sean McDermott when he a head coach because of his time in Carolina.

He was also a DC for Andy Reid in Philadelphia, so he did get some of his experience under Reid too.

Kinda hope not. Childress is an a--hole.

Marty Mornhinweg might be an option. Terrible head coach but not bad as a quarterback coach or an OC.

McDermott was the defensive coordinator in Philadelphia. He was trained under Jim Johnson. It didn’t end well in Philadelphia for Sean, but he rejuvenated his career in Carolina. Ron was on the same staff with Sean in Philadelphia. In fact, Luther called him the Dwight Schrute of the 99 staff. He was the “assistant to the head coach.”
