Of the 4 candidates, I think only Eric Bieniemy will manage to command the respect Rivera had in the locker room

Almost 30 years ago he apparently harassed a parking attendant.  There is no evidence that this is a pattern of abusing women or, well, anyone for that matter - if anything, this could be a case of someone actually getting their poo together as they get older.

I certainly never yelled at someone in an over emotional reaction of my youth and I doubt anyone who should be in a position of authority ever has either. It would be irresponsible to suggest that parking attendants are the spawn of satan and often over step their meager authority as a desperate attempt to validate their existence, so I won't do that either.

What does this suggest to you?

That Bieniemy is really, really smart.

Heck, I wrote a small playbook for kids in a flag football league and I wouldn't even lay claim to having memorized those. Pro plays have formations, protections, route trees, options... loads of things.

Having 200 of those memorized at a time, keeping in mind that they change on a week-to-week basis, tells me this guy knows a thing or two about how to brain.

I think as a candidate for  high profile job you have an explanation and discussion about how you've grown based on anything significant, and I would bet he has one for the parking attendant ando ther various alcohol-related issues in his past.

A DUI from 19 years ago wouldn't prevent someone from getting any job in America except (maybe) law enforcement or a truck driver. The parking attendant thing wouldn't either, especially if he wasn't even charged, but I would still want to know what the story there was.

I avoid social media like the plague for pretty much the reasons you stated, but then I'm a little extreme. Even as a teenager, I almost refused to date girls at my own high school because I didn't want my social life being other people's gossip. Privacy is largely a myth these days and you are right that it's on those of us who are adults who have built these privacy invading platforms. Sadly your best defense against this invasion is to lead a life no one wants to oggle.

Youthful mistakes used to just be funny stories you told your friends or cautionary tales you told your kids. Now your mistakes can be shown to the entire world and saved for future generations to see.

"Hey Mom, we heard you were in a movie once. What's 'Girls Gone Wild' about? Can we see it online?"

Well he harassed and assaulted a woman leading him to be banned from campus

I don't care and don't think its a big deal, but we live in a sensitive era of history

Many people have been 'canceled' for less

Did I miss something? The article never says it was a woman does it?

It does not, but it was a woman (and actually there was a male parking attendant involved as well)

Okay, fair enough. Regardless, my position doesn't change: I would want to know more about what happened, but I would be shocked if it ended up being something he shouldn't be hired over.

Definitely shady and weird.  And if Bienemy doesn't address it well in an interview setting it could be why you question his character.  But I think at this point it doesn't seem like a "MeToo" incident, nor something that is outright disqualifying since the campus ban was also later removed.

Agreed. I mean what exactly could be the outcome that would lead to that?

"Eric could you explain this parking attendant thing to us?"

"Yeah sure no problem. I was a broke student athlete at the time and disagreed that I should have been ticketed. 40 bucks might not seem like much but when you're on scholarship it can be a lot. It's okay though because I took a long walk in the woods after, which I find soothing and relaxing, and helps me calm down. Since I was in excellent shape, dragging her body really didn't make it feel like work, you know?"

And the organization will be doing thorough background checks on people. This was just a ham handed attempt to discredit a candidate for who knows what reason. The article was even worse.

What people need to keep in mind when evaluating any kind of "character red flag" is how long ago it took place. Unless you did something truly heinous, just about anything in your background beyond a decade ago really needs to be taken with a grain of salt. People shouldn't be sentenced to a lifetime of missing out on jobs because of something they did 20 or 30 years ago.

and in point of fact minor red flags long in the past followed by years of essentially nothing can point to growth and maturity, a person learning through experience how to handle challenging or bad situations more wisely. For all we know Eric Bienemy has dealt with a dozen parking attendants since the one incident we know of, but we don't know about them because he acted smarter the next time around.

Human beings are notoriously poor at taking what does not happen but is relevant into their decision making process.

Bieniemy is my guy right now.. i hope we land him

We have never had an OC as the HC.. someone who is in analytics and current trends.. moving from Mahomes to Cam would be easy for him to draw up game plans.. i just like this fit man.. make it happ'n cap'n

I really don't think he is the favorite, I'm not saying it can't happen. I think they pretty much know who they want because there was an article saying how they thought about it last year.
