So you're confident Newton plays 16 games next season?

I'm honestly not confident any player not named Brett Favre ever plays 16 games. And even Favre has admitted in retirement that there was plenty of times that he SHOULDN'T have played. Football is violent.

I would add that the OL has been questionable at times too while Cam has been remarkable.

You mention these things to tell us how good he IS, but you essentially run out of bullets in 2017.   A half season in 2018 can't really count, so while your points are valid, the issue is this--are you proving how good is IS or how good he WAS?  The injury status will probably determine that.  Let's hope for the best, but I worry that he is not going to be as good when he can't run as much.  His passing stats were always mediocre-his impact was elite, but that required the complete player.

  • Cameron Jerrell Newton won the MVP in 2015 with a supporting cast that consisted of Ted Ginn, Philly Brown, Jericho Cotchery, and rookie Devin Funchess as his WRs
  • He took a core of worse scrub WRs to the playoffs in 2017
  • Was having his best season ever before injuring his shoulder in 2018

I dont want us to forget how good this guy is. He's not just some scrub in a funny hat and glasses serving thanksgiving dinners. He's a National College Champion, Hiesmann winner, Rookie of the Year, MVP with 182 passing touchdowns and 58 rushing touchdowns.

All we need to fuging do is get this man an Oline and shore up the Dline to help him stay healthy, and get some coaches that make them play to 110% of their ability. #

There's a reason why his nickname is "Superman"

I mean the receivers aren’t the only players helping Cam. He had a #2 ranked oline and a top 5(?) defense...you said it yourself in the same breath of shitty receivers. Cam doesn’t need a jones or green or CJ.

Have to let go of and stop living in 2015, it’s 2020, and realize it’s not all cam. We need an oline and need a defense that isn’t one of the worst run d in nfl history.

Have to realize Newton is human and stop using him for gains every other team uses a power back for. While this is what makes him special it’s also senseless use of his skills when I think there are better ways to do it.

if cam comes back healthy with mcdaniels or mccarthy and dj moore he's gonna eat

Why are people so hung up on the Mc'guys'? One didn't win more than he should have with an elite talent at QB in his prime the other drafted TeBOHW in the first round and fuged up a franchise for several years. I mean I don't get the infatuation with them.

But shouldn't the Teeeebow draft failure be more of the GM's fault rather than the HC?

edit for the Te/bow autocorrect

No, because it was publicly stated that McDaniels was in love with him...

Let's be real here, what coach hasn't had a player they were high on end up not working out? It happens to all of them.

I think you're asking the wrong question, the real question would be how many have actually done something with said players they were high up on? Not many. The whole debacle there was also beyond repair that he didn't last long. Then the whole flaking on the Colts situation, he's gone more negatives that positives and if you think that being the coordinator for the patriots is a 'good' thing, think again. He's got Brady, that doesn't really gauge his ability to be an 'offensive Guru' at all. You got the GOAT under you, that's going to really make you look good regardless.

I for one do not want this guy.

It's ok if u don't want him, but you don't speak for everyone including Tepper.

tbh I thought it was bizzare that a prime athelete would go vegan when a lot of his game is so physical. He probably would benefit from getting a lot more protein and calories , he lost a poo ton of weight last offseason.

Plenty of the greatest athletes to ever live have gone vegan to obtain that greatness. Meat isn’t a better source of protein then veggies. Get your nutrition game up son.
