His injury from what I understand is the same like Bo Jackson’s. Technology and rehab are vastly better than 30 years ago but nevertheless he might be done.

he will try to come back. Remember when Bo did?  Bo knows.

oh,... most wouldnt.

I don't think he suffered the nerve and blood vessel damage that Bo did.

A national champion, Heisman trophy winning QB isn't more marketable or in higher demand than one who isn't those things?

Is it adapting to NFL or adding another year physical/mental growth?

Defer to the research, good point.

This has been proven false time and time again.  Its not just splurging. These guys are preyed on constantly.

He's already been a Heisman caliber player and potential NC caliber QB. Marketability isn't an issue.

The financial misgivings are present no matter when you declare.

Buck the trend.  1 NFL contract wont secure you for life anymore.

Get healthy, Dominate with your Alabama squad, win Heisman, get the Tide 1 more natty, get drafted #1 and begin your pro journey.

Or get hurt again and watch his draft stock take an even bigger hit

I’m curious to know what kind of insurance policy Tua has. I’d assume he got one before last year to protect him if he wasn’t drafted high enough. But was that a one year policy? If so, I’d think the premium on a new policy would be expensive as hell since carriers would be hesitant of the hip injury.

Anybody have any knowledge on this?

They have so many options now it would take an insurance agent. In the old days, when underclassmen first came out, you could only get covered For career ending injury. So you were done if you took a dollar.

I’m sure he can get an expensive one. But I can’t imagine trying to get an insurance company to pay out over a draft “projection” that could never really be proven. That would be fun.

Unless Tua was to publicly talk about his policy, you will likely not know the details. The insurance company will absolutely not put that information into the public arena.

I linked an article about that in this thread. It reference several cases of players who had stock drops due to injuries that had to sue the insurance companies.

And I didn’t see it. Just a guess from experience with them.
