The record is damming. If we let him go, I wouldn’t cry over it. I see why Tepper is giving him another chance. That’s all. Plus the whole bitching over it is running stale. It’s not changing.

no, no its not getting stale.  rodrigue keeps poking at the wound.

I want to know how you are being objective and everyone else isn’t. That’s the issue. You ignoring facts to chastise those using them is pathetic. If anything is running rampant on this board, the “ ignore every fact and make up whatever you want is” Asyou proved with your post.

I see reasons why Tepper chose to keep him. I’m also well aware of the reasons fans hate him. I see and acknowledge both sides. Just think the forum would be more enjoyable if we talked about the possibilities ahead vs the same old constant complaining about something we know won’t change.

The fantasy that he was going to be fired, was made up on this forum. Was never suggested or reported by any reputable source. She just keeps killing that dream by stating facts than contradict that fantasy.

I also don’t know why we are in such a rush to sign long term deals with no coach.

After their tweets today, I would not rush to negotiate anything--it is almost as if they (players) like Marty because he is player-centered.  Remember when Hurney left the first time?  Gross resigned.  They hated Gettlemen.  Rivera hated Gettlemen---they developed an "us against the world" mentality (common in sports), and Marty and RR were part of it.  An endorsement from a player (Olsen) is not necessarily a good thing.

These players are spoiled brats--we do not give them millions of dollars that we work hard to earn so they can play a game and create a fraternity.  Olsen said Marty is great with the relationships---what?  The same Marty that flew to Chicago and cried with Jake Delhomme's agent after cutting him---after paying him way more than he would earn elsewhere following Tommy John surgery----that is the guy the players love.  Tepper will learn---when he is 75 and has a pig valve in his heart--that Marty is not a good GM for the team or the fans--he is for himself and the players.

I’m not forgetting that. Surely you can tell I’ve been on this board as long as you have. I’ve been a fan since the beginning and have a Kerry Collins jersey to prove it, owned PSLs for several years, etc. I’m a real fan just as you are. I don’t come on here and bash other fans for their opinions. I get it, our record under Hurney sucks. It’s terrible. But I also see the reasons Tepper still believes in him. I just don’t understand the constant moaning and groaning over it in every single thread. It’s not changing and if he doesn’t improve we will all suffer together.  So for the sake of the team, it’s best to Hope for the best.

Hiring a more qualified head coach will go a long way in itself. Insulating Hurney with a good assistant and VP of football ops should also help. Having the 7th pick will surely help.

Its not all gloom and doom. Even if it is, we’ve beat that horse to death enough. Time to move on and discuss other things.

I can't see any argument for keeping him. As far as Tepper, I haven't seen a whole lot to tell me that I should trust his judgment.

Marty is easily one of the worst GM's in the league. There is no upside to keeping him.

The people I've primarily seen defending him are ones who think drafting nice first round picks is more important than winning.

I know exactly how you feel about Hurney. You’ve repeated it several times in several threads. But my question is why harp on it when there’s a multitude of other things to discuss?

And I think the board would be better if people stopped being hypocritical, and accusing others of doing exactly what they just did, because you didn’t Agee.. is there some way that you didn’t do that. Because your words say otherwise.

Because for the moment, we're still stuck with him.

And you're seriously asking me why I'm talking about Marty Hurney in a thread that specifically about Marty Hurney?

Hurney is just bad. He’s the common denominator to this teams failing. Look at his previous track record. Look at this year and this roster. Ffs dude. These aren’t intangibles and for Tepper to call him the best evaluator of talent, shows Tepper is way out of his mind at best.

There is a fuging reason Hurney didn’t get one phone call from any other football team when he was fired the first time and ended up a radio jockey.

Tepper, or your lackeys if you read this forum I hope you know how utterly stupid you look now.
