"Panthers have the least attractive opening"

Lack of clarity at QB is not necessarily a downside for some coaches, and we don't know what Tepper tells people in the interview.  I am sure that QB comes up.  Some may see the lack of a Daniel Jones or a Baker Mayfield as a downside... others may see it as benefit to get their guy in.  This is of course depending on what Tepper tells candidates about Cam...

NFL coaches like young QBs have a much smaller window than they use to have....

so QB uncertainty is a bigger deal now for a HC.  Got to show real promise and improvement out the gate almost

It may slightly less attractive, but I think that has more to do with the uncertainty of the FO than the team. Any team looking for a HC is going to need something. We need an o-line!

And a d-line... and a secondary... and special teams...possibly a qb...

The only way we get a coach worth something is if we can can guarantee Cam will be back. No self respected coach is going into a situation where there’s no plan in place.

Oh, there is a way, and it's a scary one.  Give the new guy full control and a 6 year contract as one of the highest paid coaches in the league.

That will do it, and likely ruin the franchise along the way.

The perplexing approach to whatever we are planning on doing with the front office is more of a contributing factor than when we decided to fire Rivera. After that the uncertain future of the quarterback position looms large.  If we had a top 5 pick or the #1 overall that would help substantially but winning those meaningless games with Kyle Allen saw to it that wouldn't happen. Was it worth it?

I’m pretty sure Tepper has mapped out a plan for his team, what that plan is nobody knows yet.

sure, but if you're a coaching candidate, do you really want to hang your hat on a guy that has already been the QB for 2 one and done coaches, or would you rather have a chance to draft your guy this year or in the next couple?

"well we're 0-2 time to close up shop and tank"?

edit: "well we're 0-2 and expect our QB to be healthy this year, time to close up shop and tank"?

Yea which is why the “we’l make a decision on Cam in March” pitch is stupid. It starts now. You’re either giving that coach the decision that he has to stick to making it for him.

I wouldn't assume that Tepper is telling coaches what he is telling us.
