A lot of pieces of a pretty bad defensive performance. I'd like to hear what the new coach has in mind on that side of the ball.

Looking at players under contract for 2020 the defense is in complete disarray and the offense is waiting to hear what is happening with Newton.  Team can probably survive a complete rebuild if Newton is back and healthy because the offense isn't in bad shape outside of the OL but defense needs heavy investments this offseason.

Why would you want to keep HER when he was getting blown up just as much as Williams? We have to keep Paradise, might as well put better talent beside him.

Then switch back to a 4-3 for 1st down/short down and distance and nickel for passing situations (maybe 3-3-5 for more confusing blitzes)

So we lost 11(9 starters) defensive players and we have 30 million or so to work with? Just to be able to even field a defense? Not to mention the offensive line.

I would want Cocktrell too. Solid and won't cost a lot of money.
