The problem with this plan is that it puts 100% faith into young unproven players we HOPE are developing that the new staff didn't draft and will have no ties to.

For all we know, we're going to hire experienced NFL coaches who scouted last year's draft and had Little and Daley graded as rubbish.

That would be the new staff choice.. But if they are good.. Hopefully they can get something out of the investments that are already on the roster and will be on the roster for atleast a few years... Instead of drafting more "young unproven" talent and causing a log jam at 1 position ..

End of the day we have alot of holes and best player available is the best option...

Yeah, I imagine 1 of them will be around at 7 unless we get unlucky and it goes Burrow, Young, Okudah, Tua, Thomas, and Brown 1-6. In that case, I might have to consider Simmons even though we just gave that ridiculous contract to Shaq. He has Derwin James potential

Even in that scenario, you've got Jeudy available as well. Exciting to think no matter how the draft plays out, we've got a stud to choose from at 7.

Yeah more and more im I dont mind going offensive because the NFL doesn't seem to care about or let you play defense at all. But the line needs to be built up first.

Like I said before the season started. Every olinemen has a question mark and it played out just like that. Everybody pretty much got abused this year including Turner and Moton.

Whether its FA or draft, Panthers need to be building that oline or its gonna remain the same just like it has for the last 10 years.

I agree with you too but Jeudy is ahead of Andrew Thomas on my board. It’s either Jeudy or Thomas for me at 7th. I don’t like any other OTs after Andrew Thomas this high in the draft. You can always draft a top OL every year in the draft. You can’t always draft an elite wr prospect like Jeudy every year.

Well I guess if your board says that we have no other choice.   You just saved the whole franchise from making a critical error.   Thanks!

He's a Nfl coverage linebacker, he's already bigger than Deon Jones in Atlanta and is basically a better version of him

Derrick Henry is 6’3” and listed at 247 lb. Youre telling me that Henry is only 17 lb more than Simmons?

No way in hell that Simmons is 230lb. He looks more like Derwin James and James is at 215lb. Kam Chancellor is 6’3” and 225; a guy who eats and workout on a NFL program throughout his time in the NFL. Simmons is a 21 yo kid in college.

I’d say the Panthers already have two elite receivers in CMC and DJ. What they don’t have is an adequate pass-blocking OL or a settled QB situation. I’d say fix those before getting a luxury pick like another pass-catcher.

Having a real wr that can stretch the field and make plays in the secondary is a lot more different than a running back who catches dump offs and screens for 5-15 yd.

I don't see how any folks watching Daley and Little heck even Moton to some degree say we're comfortable with our OT situation. They're not good enough! One has multiple concussions and injuries in his rookie year at one of the most hardest positions to play! We have Moton who under performed this year and will be looking for a contract next year. You have to light a fire under their tail and get good competition. It's time to invest in a good OT and where we're positioned there are multiple OT that we may have a chance at.

I think he can play a hybrid of safety or linebacker. Think it would depend on the personnel on the field.

The problem is that we already have Shaq playing that role in our nickel defense

I just haven’t seen a player who made a career out of being a hybrid S/LB. Deone Bucannon can barely hold onto a team. Adrian Phillips for the Chargers is the only guy I’ve seen that had some success being a hybrid recently.
