Hard pass on Simmons and Okudah

I want a big man on the line, Oline or Dline. We can't do jack poo without some better big men with an attitude.

You guys act like this every off season. Panthers fans think that teams only have the draft to fix the roster. There also is this thing called “free agency”.

What planet are you from?

Planet Earth. What planet are you from? Please show me multiple drafts that never had deep OTs. This upcoming draft is deep. Last year was deep. Year before that was deep. It’s always 3-4 guys that are graded high. Then you have the other 3-5 guys that are projected 2nd round guys. Always around 8-10 guys that will be drafted between the first 2 rounds. You must be from Mars

Depends on who is available along with Okudah. I would have to take Jeudy over Okudah. But would take Okudah over Derrick Brown or any OTs. An elite wr talent like Jeudy doesn’t come out the draft every year. And an elite CB like Okudah is harder to find than a stud DT or OT. OTs are always deep in every draft.

Elite WRs don't come out like Jeudy? He might not even be the first WR drafted this year and we already have a young number one with the same skill set. Priorities, man

CBs are an asset and there's a lack of good ones in the NFL right now. We are in the same division as Julio and Thomas. Okudah is the pick all day over JJ

Now to be fair to you, i can be convinced that we're becoming an offensive team going forward and are all about slapping together a young defense with young guys in the secondary (volume over high pick approach) but WR seems like the last place to do that, it'd be a more convincing argument to fix the offensive line instead of taking the flashy corner.

Edit, nevermind you weren't suggesting that quite as aggressively.

Jeudy is much more athletic and more of a home run wr than Moore. Like I said the in op, Sammy Watkins was the last elite wr to come out the draft. We have needs across the board. I have the guys I like but at the end of the day Hurndog is making the pick. I’m not going to argue with you for the next 4 months

If we bring in an innovative offensive mind, I think we'll see Samuel more involved.

Samuel is done unless he can make an amazing transformation during the offseason. And that’s highly unlikely. Norv and Scott tried their best. It’s to the point where they just have to run options just in order for him to get the ball in his hands.

Depending on the coach, this guy can shut down the run and provide solid bull rush in the 4-3 and beast from the 5 technique in a 3-4.  Versatility and addresses a weakness.  6-6, 280.  He is special.

Love Epenesa but the Panther's defense critically needs a guy who can shut down the middle (a la Star) way more than we need another Edge player (as good as he is).

OL or DT should be our first pick.

Which, of course, means that Hurney will trade draft capital to move up to draft Deandre Swift.

I could see Okudah--Bradberry and OK with Jackson inside--so much depends on what we do in free agency in March.  I could see Jeudy to pair with Moore to give us a 1-2 punch and force Samuel to the slot.  However, if Thomas is there, you take the LT.  If not and Brown is there, you gotta love him enough to take him.

If we take an inside lineman, we need a first rounder, so free agency should tell us what we are doing in the draft.  If we sign a few DTs, look for Thomas, Wirfs, or Willis in round 1.  Would love to see Creed Humphries in round 2.  Little to LG if he loses the battle---I hope he can play it.

The great thing about drafting Wirfs (if Thomas and Brown are gone) is that he has shown the capability to play just about any position on the OL (except center) at a high level.

So you have a guy to plug in wherever you need him.  And, other than Thomas, he's the best OL in the draft (and from Iowa who have a track record of sending quality OL to the League).
