Yep I still don't think Bieniemy is the one we hire.

Also Perry Fewell has not interviewed for the job and I don't think he will. Every report says he would get one after season but I think how we looked when he took over was enough said on that one, so Bieniemy is Rooney rule

Actually, LaCanfora confirmed that he already did.

I expect the team did it before everybody cleared out and went home.

...."talked to" means nothing in the context of this situation.....total BS fake news.

The guy works for the team, they "talk" every single day.

There is zero confirmation that the Carolina Football Panthers interviewed Perry Fewell for the position as Head Ball Coach.

Who is your top pick for Head Ball Coach of the Carolina Football Panthers?

*Bieniemy has a long arrest history and assaulted a woman [and frankly, lacks qualifications for the job]

And this bullsh-t about Eric Bieniemy is ridiculous.

Is it?

Are you sure about that?

I think the Panthers (Tepper) are playing coy with Stefanski to the media because they don't want it be known he's desirable

Browns are more likely to hire him if they think we're going to

And given he has a playoff game and can't be interviewed yet, there's nothing to gain from leaking our interest

I just don't buy these other candidates given Tepper's focus on data, analytics, and cognitive horsepower;  he would have kept Rivera around (who might be the best 'culture' guy in the NFL) if he was content with a mediocre hire.

The reason Tepper even gave Rivera that extra year was because he thought he could be the ideal head coach if he blended his leadership skills with input from analytics guys;  unfortunately, Rivera was stubborn and didn't really want to defer to the analytics guy we hired ("'Figures lie and liars figure,' )

Tepper wants a guy who is both analytical and can lead men.   Use process of elimination to infer who we are likely to hire from that.

Perry Fewell

He blew his chance when he started Grier.  Everyone knew Grier isn’t ready and he will not do well behind that OL and probably will get injured too (just like Cam, Allen, Heinicke).  He started him anyway.  Grier got injured in his second start, and didn’t look good.

That’s enough to strip him of any decision making power moving forward.

If you are going to play this game you have to at least try to inform yourself and read.

Fewell said he interviewed.

Literally all you have to do is search to see this.

Seems pretty obvious why it was necessary to start Grier. Not doing so would have been unacceptable.

Why would stefanski take the Cleveland job over the Panthers? They literally fire coaches every year... Panthers have a history of giving their coaches time to build their team. At some point, that has to register with a guy like Stefanski... if he is the type of guy who wants to be analytical about his chance to suceed....

    • I see 4 winnable games on our schedule left. If we win two of them and Bryce continues his progress, this season is a success.  low expectations? Sure. But I think we’d have enough information to know Bryce is our starting qb next year and we can enter the draft with a high pick knowing what we need to improve.
    • Some of us may forget when Drew Brees “wasn’t” the great QB we faced in New Orleans. Prior to his HOF career, he was an afterthought in Dan Diego that was particularly liked by his coach Marty Schottenheimer.  But we all see how that turned out.  Bryce may never be the 2nd coming of Brees but let’s give him and the staff time to help him reach his potential.
    • Here’s another that we fans should keep in mind: Sometimes greatness takes time. Mahomes had the benefit of sitting a season behind Alex Smith after the Chiefs traded up to take him with the 10th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Young, last year’s top pick, started 16 games as a rookie, going 2-14, absorbing 62 sacks and posting the league’s worst passer rating.
