The Coaching Carousel

Bears picked up a really good OL coach in Juan Castillo.

He's a guy I wish we'd have hired years ago. He and Ron had worked together in Philly, if I recall correctly.

Was Juan coaching the Oline in Philly, then took over the DC after Sean McDermott was fired?

We're in a battle with Cleveland for Stefanski, as I projected a month ago

The only way he's not our next head coach is if he takes the Browns job over ours

The other candidates are just Tepper doing his due diligence

*Bieniemy has a long arrest history and assaulted a woman [and frankly, lacks qualifications for the job]

*Tepper didn't fire Ron Rivera only to hire a guy Aaron Rodgers described as having the lowest IQ of any coach he's ever had;  if we're being honest, Tepper canned Rivera for not being analytical [see: intelligent] enough.  McCarthy can study all he wants, but he has a low cognitive ceiling.   He would be lucky to get a job as a janitor at Appaloosa Management.

*McDaniels might be bright enough for Tepper, but will easy be identified as lacking the leadership skills Tepper described he was looking for.  He's not head coach material, and only dim owners Irsay don't realize it

Stefanski is Tepper's target (and unfortunately, also DePodesta's target).  Hopefully Haslam refuses to listen to him again, or he likes our roster/owner more.

We haven't even asked for permission to interview Stefanski yet. LaCanfora said we might, but there's no official word yet.

And this bullsh-t about Eric Bieniemy is ridiculous.
