We Are Going to Have the 8th or 7th Pick in the Draft in 2020. Who Do You Want??

Off-season starts right now for the Panthers.

So very early takes, who do you want with our coveted top 10 pick ? Not necessarily who you think the Panthers will pick, who do you want personally. Burrow and Young are going 1 / 2 most likely but anyone else is fair game.

Right now I'd say my top 5 are (In order)

  • Andrew Thomas (OT / Georgia)
  • Tristan Wirfs ( OT / Iowa )
  • Jerry Jeudy (WR / Alabama )
  • A.J. Epenesa (DE / Iowa )
  • Cedee Lamb (WR/ Oklahoma)

Who I dont want

  • Justin Herbert
  • Tua
  • Derrick Brown

We could easily be picking the best OT, OG, WR, or 2nd best DE.

WR might not be a huge need but Im pretty sure we need someone besides DJ. Curtis isn't the answer .

Tristan Wirfs

If Little doesnt Pan out, Wirfs can be your franchise LT.

If Little does pan out, you have 2 STUD OTs with Little at LT, Wirfs at RT

Move Moton to LG (where he was projected coming out of the draft) for the last year of his deal.  Similar to what the Saints have done moving Peat to OG and drafted a OT playing RT int he 1st

I like your top 5 list but am curious why you don't want Brown?

Wirfs was a beast this weekend he might be better than Thomas overall.

b/c I'm just sour on drafting a DT that high. Im off the opinion you draft a pure freak pass rusher or go oline if you're in the top 10.

Hed be an okay ish choice if we traded down for him

If we keep cam wirfs should be the pick if we trade cam tua and a o-line should be the pick with the 1st we pick up best trade partner would be Miami they have 3 1st round picks

then draft offense and defense line the rest of the draft skill positions in free agency

I LOVE Brown, kid is a top 5 player.

But there are also 3 Really dam good day 1 impact starter OTs as well.  After that it starts to drop off.

While DT group appears to be DEEP.

So we can draft Brown but your not going to find that OT in rd 2-3.  While we could draft one of these OTs and still get 2 impact DTs in rds 2-3

    • Yeah and he succeeded at an even higher level in LA with an even better surrounding cast. Goff is a guy that isn't really able to dramatically elevate players around him but he can make a good situation even better. He is capable of that. Some QB's aren't. I am not sure Dak is able to do that and he is in a similar "class" as Goff, IMO.
    • i think i could handle that for a year. beyond that....i don't know.  back where we lived, when we had a few inches of snow, it might have been a couple feet because we weren't getting out and doing anything. i remember times where power would go out for days on end. we had propane and electric heat, depending on the floor. basement (had a couple bedrooms and a living room and kitchen down there) and main floor had gas logs. main floor gas logs was enough to take care of the upstairs, so we could stay warm and cook on the grill when we needed. we had a well so that was always an issue when the power went out. had to make sure tubs were filled with water for the toilets and we had gallons of water for drinking and cooking available. always had to make sure we were ready. that wasn't always the case. we had a couple moments where we were going through propane quickly and because we were dealing with the worst propane company in the world (amerigas) they wouldn't get out to put gas in our 900 gallon tank. made for some nerve racking moments.  i know y'all were probably a lot more able to handle that kind of thing, but after the little bit (comparatively) that we got here i just have no desire to get trapped again. maybe for a day or two a year get snowed in and i'm good.
    • I think he is just drawing a DC to them line and that's about as far as his thought process went. It makes almost no sense outside of that. Also, it doesn't make sense for Pittsburgh or Seattle at this juncture either.  I think our "veteran" pool is basically gonna be the Dalton/Flacco tier or the "pick your poison" options of young busts(Jones/Z. Wilson) or wild, TO prone gunslingers(Darnold/Winston/etc). We have the option to pursue I genuinely believe(depending on the way the rest of this season goes), we either draft a QB in the top 10 or resign Dalton. Outlier third option on taking one of the wild gunslingers that Dave feels like he can work with.
