Allen won’t be on the team next year.

Why not? He's slotted to get like $500,000. Even if you aren't a fan, do you think we have a better use of that money? I think he gets way too much hate. He's not a long term starter but he's a solid backup and one of the best values in all of the nfl. He played behind an awful line and showed flashes of good potential regardless. Look at how Grier looked and tell me Allen isn't worth a league minimum roster spot.

It’ll be:

1) Cam

2) 1st or 2nd-rd draft pick

3) cheap veteran in his 30s

If Cam is coming back, we absolutely must build up our lines.  We are likely to be reaching for a QB in the 1st this year and I'm not sure there is a QB worth taking in the 2nd, not when we desperately need help in the trenches. IMO, go all in on building up the line, see what cam has left in him, sign a vet, and keep either grier or allen (IMO, Allen, who is MUCH better than Grier... compare Allen last year to Grier this year... yeesh).

If he is really really bad then your draft capital comment is hilarious...

We spent a 3rd rounder on him dumbass that’s his “draft capital”  Not that Grier actually has value because he sucks also. Coaching staff MIGHT retain him just based on where he was drafted.

but it was hilarious watching dumbasses like you get so worked up with moxy Allen and then watching it all blow up in your face was hilarious.

I mean yeah but even a new coaching staff is just gonna want his own guys especially backups. I don’t even think Grier will be on this team although he has a better shot since he has draft capital with him.

some people don’t realize that Allen is reallllllly bad

Bc most fans don't know how to football

He’s not a solid backup tho. He’s not good.

Depends, if we keep cam, then I dont think so since I think we are taking a qb early in the draft.  If we trade cam, we are still taking a qb early and I think allen is a legit backup and short time starter if need be while the rookie gets up to nfl speed.  Allen is an unspectacular backup.  He can hold his own just dondony ask him to own a team.  FWIW grier I think is gone next year whether it's by trade or cutting, just not roster able with how bad he is.

So what's your plan for the backup qb position? Invest more draft capital when we need to shore up so much of our defense as well as o line, not to mention whoever we draft will naturally have a high bust potential? Get a veteran who will cost 10 times as much and be a marginal upgrade but still not good enough to lead our team to any kind of success if he were to have to play an extended period of time, particularly with the incredibly flawed team we have now?

Allen is a good option while we try to rebuild our team. He's super cheap so we can invest in other areas we need, knows our system and has proven he can win for a few games if he has a decent team around him. With a team this bad, I don't think upgrading our backup qb needs to be one of our highest priorities.

Yeah and we don’t have one, that’s why we’ve lost 8 straight games.

Our losses are solely because of our qb and not our atrocious offensive line or non-existent run defense? Do you credit Allen when we went 5-1 in his first 6 games or does he only get the blame when we lose and none of the credit when we win?
