The second half of the Scott debating strategy.

Present ourselves in the most positive light while painting others in the most negative light so only a troll or ass would disagree. In fact they would have to do it on.purpose.    Why else would anyone dare to disagree? ( Not in the post but in the thread.)

Well, I don't actually have to paint you in a negative light.

You do most of that work on your own.

Just to give both of you a heads up, Panthers55 likes to take up stupid, unpopular points and argue them just to be an ass. He spent several years arguing with people that Mike Shula was actually a great OC.

Up to you how much you want to continue. Just know what you're getting into.

Can confirm

Samuel was a negative. Cost us the Bears game.

Armah didn’t contribute much and still doesn’t.

Huddlers were calling CMC a bust that season.

Adams was average

Average for 2M is good. Paying 8M for well below average(Reid) is bad.

Samuel was hurt. Twice. But didn’t stop Hurney from trading our WR1 did it.

CMC had 1200 YFS. I’d say he contributed.

And signing 95% of the team contracts might have an impact. The first one a Hurney signed was Gano’s extension.

Please list all the things Hurney should be given  for? How did he help? In any way?

You assume that having a positive attitude means you aren't a realist which is a common misconception. Positive or negative attitudes are more about the future not the present. Looking at things without always focusing on the negative doesn't mean you don't see the reality. It means you don't dwell on it and focus on it . I am out of town and couldn't even sell my tickets to the game today. I go to the games I see the result in person. I deal with Reality every home game on.

Please....

The glass is half full or half empty but it is exactly the same level.  We will be 5-11 after today. But I will be watching to see McCaffrey get his 1000/1000 and to see if Grier deserves being brought to camp. Again each to their own. But it is a sad commentary when being positive is worth ridicule and scorn around here.

Heres hope that we get better results next season.  It sucks to walk out of our house while opposing fans laugh and joke about whipping us.  Washington was really tough.

I assume your way too positive attitude hinders your judgements when involving anything Panther related. You have defended every single move since I’ve been around. Correct? And the team is a train wreck. See where the disconnect happens. And if the fan base doesn’t hold anyone accountable, why change anything? Ever? Has any coach ever done anything that would cause you to even question them?

You mistake any honest opinion that isn’t a glowing review of CAR as having an agenda
to further. I don’t care about your tickets because you doNT. You’re happy with the status quo at all times. This is what a lack of accountability looks like.

Why did you include Samuel then?
And Gano was the best kicker of 2017.

And Butker was equally effective for 3M less. Including actually trying 50yd FGs.

Samuel dod contribute. Then hurt as well.

Now, why should we give Hurney credit for anything? Your turn. Try answering anything.

Far from clouding my judgement,  my positive attitude allows to keep rooting for my team despite the results lately. It allows me to spend thousands of dollars each year supporting my team in good times and bad.

Once again you  take an extreme position regarding my posts. I have been critical when I felt it was justified. I also am fine with anyone disagreeing with me. I wish that I were afforded the same.  And if you don't know you have a predictable agenda all the time. I can't help you.

Denial ain't just a river in Egypt. Won't keep arguing though..Happy New Year's.

And as always, the” I’m a better person/fan so what I say matters” conclusion.

What’s my agenda? Put it out there. We’ll see who the hypocrite is. I’ll post whatever is needed to show otherwise. Then we can go thru yours and see how critical you’ve been in the past. I’m game. If my agenda is so obvious, this should be a layup for you. So where do we start?

Tepper knows what he is doing and has a plan. It seems the people who are the most negative here have an agenda that colors every statement with little objectivity or logic.

Exactly.

Here's the logic they are missing --- none of us really know Hurndog's true capabilities as a GM.

How is it we don't know Hurndog's true capabilities?

Because The Big Cat never let Marty do the job without interfering.

Marty:  "Jerry, this is how I think we should proceed/draft/trade/offer  contract, etc..."

Jerry:  "That's nice Marty, here's what we're going to do [pick your blunder], now go do it."

Here's the objectivity they are missing --- Marty must be a LOT more capable of executing the GM responsibilities than any of us (myself included) ever thought.

How do we know this to be true?

Because 17 months after taking control of the team Mr. David Tepper still employs the Hurndog.

It really is that simple.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Tepper officially took over the Panthers on July 9, 2018.  The team was 2-weeks away from opening camp and the timing dictated the Panthers roll into camp and the 2018 season pretty much as constructed on both the player & executive fronts.

At that point in time I believed Hurney would babysit the GM position through the 2018 season and then be gone as soon as the clock ticked 0:00 in game-16.

Rowboat had just signed a ridiculous contract extension The Big Cat gifted him on the way out the door and I figured that combined with his track record as 2-time NFLCOY, etc...would spur Tepper to let the Rower continue into 2019 no matter how 2018 went.

To my surprise (and I must admit, chagrin) both were retained going into 2019.

I started to think about....why?  There must be a logical explanation?  Mr. David Tepper specializes in logical decisions, good ones.

There are 2 primary reasons Mr. David Tepper is now worth $11B++...

1.  Superior information.

2.  Superior intellect and decision making ability.

A deadly combination that is...

In evaluating this Hurndog scenario there are 2 certainties:

1.  Tepper's information is far superior to mine.   (even though I do have Hurndog's direct phone # :shades:)

2.  Tepper is way smarter than me and a much more capable decision maker than I am.

So, how is it that Hurndog remains in Big Tepp's employ?

There's only one-single explanation...

...Big Tepp sat Hurndog down and said "walk me through your decision making process" on hundreds if not thousands of football related decisions going all the way back to his first NFL related job as the Redskins PR guy 30 years ago...

...AND...

...Big Tepp liked what he heard.

People, DON'T FORGET....Hurndog was never given the leeway to make the calls as he saw fit --- The Big Cat was micromanaging to the Nth degree.  I'm sure this was exposed in the hours and hours and hours of conversation Tepper had with Hurndog.

It was the same with Gettleman --- look no further than Brenton Bersin for a graphic example of The Big Cat telling the GM how he was going to proceed.

There-in lay the logical & objective explanation for how and why Hurndog still has the job.

Will be interested to see how the "I'm smarter than Tepper" crowd reacts....LOL.

Samuel had 115 rec yards. That’s a half for some receivers.

Scots entire shtick switched from obsessive Homer to borderline troll when his boi , Maybe One Of The Best To Ever Do It, got unceremoniously punted out the door and he's still throwing a tantrum

And KB had 475.  So what? It’s one player. DG was responsible for every player including Samuel. Even Gano and Butker. That’s plentyOf reasons for full credit.

Now try giving me ONE reason to give Hurney credit? Anything? Typical.
