Hurney screwed the pooch on this one. It's like Matt Kalil bad

Hurney deserves to be skewered, but signing free agent offensive linemen to costly contracts has turned out badly for a number of teams in 2019. The draft really isn't any better either, even in the first round. Actually worse looking at the drafts over the past several years. It's a really bad time to be desperate for OL help.

I can't say that I'm surprised. It's nearly impossible to overstate how terrible Paradis has been. Every bit as bad as Amini and Bell at their worst.

It's pretty reasonable to expect that it be more difficult to get a sack going through the interior line then it is around the edge.

No clue. Larsen was a lot better than this when he last filled in for Kalil. Hell, we were better statistically on offense virtually across the board with Larsen vs. Kalil.

Salary isn't supposed to matter when it comes to those decisions, but let's be real. Sometimes it does.

Probably also worth remembering that for most of the season, that decision was up to Ron Rivera. Doubt anybody believes Rivera was going to bench Paradis.
