Based on what exactly?

Unless I've missed it I haven't really seen much from you about where we go from here starting over at quarterback.

Usually the only time I see you chime in is when someone talks about the possibility of Cam returning. I'm sure some of that is due to the state of dialogue considering how bad things have gotten.

I'm not saying you have to or that you should but if you are going to talk about Cam maybe it would help to give your thoughts on what comes next? The odds that either of the current quarterbacks we are stuck with right now are or could be the answer in the not so distant future are pretty low. Fans will only grow more tired in the coming months of hearing about how Cam is done without any semblance of an answer.

If you're 40 or 50 something and can't make it on a sports message board without loading up your ignore list maybe the internet just isnt for you.

I very rarely post on here because people on this board can’t handle a conversation without being too emotionally involved. If asked I say I don’t think he’s coming back. I never go beyond that for multiple reasons. I only share my thoughts and what I’ve been told, from all sides, in our Roaring Riot Slack community. They seems to be able to handle adult conversations better - probably because they know one another personally.

It seems silly to think that because I haven’t laid my thoughts about the QB situation out on the Huddle that I’m overlooking its importance. That’s a gigantic (and incorrect) assumption.

I have no idea where they go for a QB. I don’t think they truly know. The post-Cam era scares the poo out of me. One because I’m a fan and he’s my favorite player and two because of the impact he’s had on our franchise and this fanbase. We’ve been discussing it for three years and I can’t believe that reality is staring us in the face. It’s fuging frightening.

My feelings on Cam aren’t a secret.

We're all emotionally involved, that's the state of social media in general with so many people going for each others throats over just about anything and everything. That's certainly not limited to sports as we know.

Anyways I pie'd this post because even if we are disagreeing on what are ultimately minuscule details we both agree wholeheartedly on the basics.

All we can do from here is hope the process is not too painful and drawn out. If looking around the league is any indication we could be in store for even worse. But the plus is there are teams making it work like the Ravens after Flacco. I'm not holding my breath that we will be quite that fortunate though.

The second part is where I think you are perhaps unintentionally glossing over just how bad things can and will get. Other bad teams in the league may be able to keep fans coming back because of decades built up establishing generations of fans. The Panthers do not have that luxury as a young franchise that just notched the 25 year mark.

imagine how ugly it’s going to get when the panthers are an irrelevant perennial bottom feeder and tepper is leaning on the city and the state to pay for a stadium lol

Yeah it's more likely than not that we're going to join the Titans and/or Jaguars in their cohort.  An irrelevant, faceless franchise with a small nucleus of hardcore fans.  To the rest of the league we'll be that expansion team that either went 8-8 or 3-13 or something, who cares, when does Lamar Jackson play.

I wasn't going to but I feel we should touch on the whole "emotional attachment" thing I've seen parroted from Igo and now RR.

It's beginning to take on a connotation I really don't care for at all. Especially when you see droves of fans lining up to loudly celebrate McCaffrey's record, and pile in here to tell you why Luke hasn't actually lost a step.

It's a little too reminiscent of the tone of the "Vick fans" remarks we used to hear about. Which we know what that actually meant.

Reading the race card into every post will do that for you. I learned to not to become emotionally attached with the Steve Smith situation Agent 89 was my favorite since high school that was tough, he is still my all time favorite Panther after Smitty losing TD,Hardy, and Stewie wasn't so bad players come and go.

You joined two weeks ago and have Luke's last name in your huddle account, but you aren't emotionally attached?

It's been my experience especially dealing with a fanbase in the south that those who talk the most about a "race card" usually have the most bias of anyone.

And he has lost at least half a step we will never again see 2013-2015 Luke most likely. My original handle had 52 and 89's last names notice a trend? As fans we don't want to let go of our favorites at the end of the day that means nothing and will not change the probability of it happening.

That sounds dangerously close to those people who say "If you stop talking about race it will go away". Just  like for 400 year while black people were enslaved in the "south" they were unable to talk about it did it go away? How about If Kap didn't talk about police brutality and taken a knee would it have gone away? If King didnt march would Jim Crow and the block of minority voting went away? Of course not. People in power dont see a problem with issues as long as it's in there favor. It can go on forever. Just like the people who support Trump have no problem with his obstruction of Justice and say"every president does that". Talking about a issue and making people uncomfortable is the only way things get done buddy.
