Now if he could just play defense against the pass

Yup, I don't think anyone questioned his strength was against the run.  A definite liability in coverage though.  That also demonstrates how bad our DL and LB play has been this year overall.  I can't remember the last time our run defense was this bad.  Did I say bad?  That was too nice, absolutely fugg'n putrid!  That's a more accurate depiction.

Yeah, it's a good/bad thing. Good for Reid for getting those tackles, but a DB getting 100+ tackles is usually a really bad thing for the overall defense.

We basically tried to play him in a TD role with him covering deeper routes... not going to happen. Just move him into the TD role, he’d thrive for a few more years.

Would never be TD though, nobody can replace him.

Just looked it up, this team had only one other year when our run defense was this bad.  Hazard a guess?  If you said 2001 you would be correct.  That year we finished dead last, but thanks to the Bengals being a bigger dumpster fire than us right now, we will have to settle for runner-up this year.
