Panthers coach Search Update (Dec 28 UPDATE)

Rapaport said right after he was fired that Rivera was going to be a top candidate. People didn't want to believe him.

As I recall though, Rivera also said he wanted to coach for a winner. Not sure how the Redskins fit into that idea unless Rivera defines "winner" way differently than I do.

(and to be fair, he certainly defined "good player" differently than a lot of people would have, so...)

Kind of bad that the guy we just fired as the HC is the Hottest name out there.  While we are trying to "upgrade"

And meanwhile we are retaining the GM who has already run. This franchise into the ground once.   And his name was the exact opposite where no one even wanted him to touch their franchise in any way.

Smh

Meh, Rivera's message was getting stale with the team.  There's a reason 10+ year one-team coaches are rare.  Belichick demands results and is the obvious outlier.  Besides him you have about four other coaches just hitting or recently hitting that mark.  Again, pretty rare.

How many people would say.

Marty Hurney is a HOT commodity and will be picked up right away.  (If he were fired)

Not arguing that.

It was time for him to go.

Yes stale like when the Eagles parted ways with Andy Reid, it was just time.

Dave Gettleman was also a hot name and eveyone acted like we were stupid to fire him. Now the rest of the world thinks he's an idiot like we did years ago.

Any suggestion of that being a smart move kind of goes in the toilet when you look at who he was replaced with.

Washington feeling like they have to move fast before "better jobs come available" says a lot about the franchise.

Even they know they suck.

When you have a owner that meddles you have to move fast. Washington or Dallas will never be successful with their owners and salary cap.
