Because he is keeping people like Marty Hurney to be the GM and he is interviewing Mike McCarthy. That is why I am questioning his football intelligence. Not to say my stance won't change, but the stuff Ive seen so far is poor.

What's the point attempting to judge the result at this point? Serious question.

I concede I overstated Seattle's performance against us. I still maintain that Zona is vastly improved over last year.

Improved yes, but that is relative because they were just so bad last year.  They had 6 games where they failed to score 21+ points and that's where the team is supposed to be hanging their hats; offensive firepower. Also only had two games scoring over 30 points (Falcons early on and the Browns).

I’m starting to more and more believe that the Panther’s owner, who is obviously brilliant when it comes to financial matters such as buying “distressed assets” (i.e. businesses where actual people work) and breaking those “assets” apart for financial profit (i.e. closing companies and eliminating real jobs held by real people), just isn’t very bright when it comes to this whole “football” deal.

It was ONE interview. Relax.

From everyone he interviews Tepper will learn something.   Something about the team...players, front office, strategies....ideas for moving forward. He will likely interview quite a few people and you can bet he will be picking their brains.

Calm down....this coaching search is definitely a process.  That's why he wanted to start early.

This is what I was thinking also we are going to burn out if we jump on each interview and over analyze it. Tepper has a plan (I hope) and it will be interesting to see how it unfolds

I’m on board with hiring McCarthy. We’re likely looking at a new qb if Cam can’t go. McCarthy did a great job with Rodgers early and was a dang solid coach for a while.

I think his failures towards the end in Green Bay was a combination of his message getting stale and the packers being atrocious at drafting defensive talent.

not sure about that.

Probably better offensive gameplans.

The end skews things but we had very solid defenses under Rivera.

Since 2012 and not counting this season wins since McCarthy has been on the couch.

McCarthy/Packers = 69 wins

Rivera/Panthers = 67 wins

What an amazing selection of years to fit your narrative.  McCarthy total record

125–77–2 (.618).  That is pretty damn good.

From 2007 - 2016 he missed the playoffs 1 time.  Also, won a Super Bowl in there.
