Do you feel better or worse?

I am very excited that we won the game and I feel that was our most complete game of the season. Furthermore, the Giants and Jets look like much better matchups than they did earlier in the season. But the issue of Jake Delhomme unfortunately still remains a big issue. On the one hand he didn't throw an INT and he actually made a really good play on the TD pass to Smitty. On the other hand he was as inaccurate as ever, didn't adjust for the blitz, and was injured towards the end of the game. The offense didn't complete a pass in the second half which is a little embarrassing no matter how well we were running the ball. So do you feel better about the Jake situation or worse now that he may be fighting a chest injury?

I for one don't think the problem is over and I'm still terrified when he chucks the ball in the air (one thing he never did against the Cards) but I think he did get the monkey off his back in a way. It will be interesting to see how his injury affects his play next week, or if his leash got a little longer with the win over Arizona.

It sounds like you're grouping his injury with his shortcomings, which makes no sense at all. He said that he played after the injury until the pain and the cold feeling overcame him. I'd give him a pass on some of that, plus he was hit as he threw on two passes, which negates any chance of a completion. Again it just sounds like you're so shocked he didn't have a total meltdown that you don't know whether or not to like him still, which probably places you in a majority rather than a minority.

To take nothing from yesterday's great win, I have to agree that the (the lack of) consistency of Delhomme and our offensive playcalling is still a big question mark. To only score 6 points after scoring 28 in the 1st half has to be a cause for concern. And believe me we're not going to see many more 200+ rushing days, as our schedule will continue to get tougher and really good teams will try to make JD beath them. However, yesterday's win will cause good number of Panthers' fans gloss over these issues (at least for this week) IMO.
