We're going to hit our lowest point as a fan base since the final game of 2001 on Sunday

The lowest moment in team history was in 2010, the Panthers were 0-5 facing the Chicago Bears. Julius Peppers intercepted a Jimmy Clausen throw, and shushed the crowd. I felt like the team was dead at that moment.

Yes, the Todd Collins vs. Clausen bowl was awful.

I would add the Brian St. Pierre game vs. the Ravens from that season.

Agree with Fiz, that the 01 game wasn't taken over by Pats fans, but they did outnumber us by the 2nd quarter. It was miserably cold, much moreso because me and my 3 friends wore white tank tops and wrote 1-15 across them and got on the front page of the observer the next day.

I disagree. If you know your team is bad you expect to lose. Worse is a team that you thought could be a playoff team that will end without a win in the second half of the year. Last year was similar but there was still some fight and we lost in every way imaginable in close games aside from the Steelers. This year we’ve just been dominated. The Giants just beat a team that rolled over us to turn our 14-0 start into a 29-14 lead. The Falcons outscored us by 46 points in 2 games. It was an odd year where a backup QB came in and looked sort of competent and then we fell apart and became the worst D in the league.

In the second half of the last two years we will be 1-15. That’s inexcusable when at the mid point we were in playoff slots. We know how to beat AFC teams and sometimes Tampa. That’s about it.

We are watching the Falcon play with some heart and we are watching Tampa become a better team than us and NO is still challenging for a SB every year. That’s about as bad as it gets.

Well the Falcons playing with heart and winning useless games in December is, ironically, a time-honored Panthers tradition that finally isn’t happening.

god that fuging bears game. panthers try a quick smoke route to smith that peppers had seen a thousand times WHEN HE PLAYED FOR THE PANTHERS and he just housed it.

the real most embarrassing thing about that game were the two plays they put in armanti at quarterback. both were runs off guard, which for a 165 pound person was just john fox and the coaching staff giving the middle finger to hurney.

someone told the story (maybe schwartz?) that they told the defense what the play was before they ran it just so the d line wouldn't murder him. like "he's running here, let's just be gentle to him."

not that anyone should rewatch that game but on both drives you clearly see him get wrapped up and gently lowered to the ground. then the fuging defenders lift him up and pat him on the ass.

it was like some kid who wants to score a TD at halftime for his make a wish. you'd think armanti had leukemia, and judging by how small he was i wouldn't have doubted that if you'd told me.

Matt Forte also got fifty yards every time he touched the ball in that game.  Chicago was starting an awful QB in that game too because I believe Culter was injured.

e: haha both quarterbacks attempted a combined 38 passes for less than 100 total yards
