We're going to hit our lowest point as a fan base since the final game of 2001 on Sunday

1. Hardly any Panthers fans will be at the game.

2. The Saints still have something to play for.

3. Sean Payton gets hard thinking about humiliating his opponents.

4. The Panthers have quit like I haven't seen them quit since 2001.

All that adds up to the Saints' fans (who don't even have much of a presence in Charlotte and who don't travel all that well) still managing to take over our stadium. I can already see it now: trailing 49-3 with 5 minutes left in the game, all Saints fans move down to the vacated seats by the field and starting chanting WHO DAT while Michael Thomas flexes on the sideline, Cam Jordan puts on a Santa hat and points at Saints fans, the team gathers for a team photo on the sidelines. It's going to be like that infamous 2001 finale vs. New England when the exact same thing happened.

Have fun!

Yea its gonna be a rough finale but I dont but into all the negative thinking for next year. We are a monster DT, a guard and center from being very competitive if Cam comes back healthy which I think he will.  We can take care of that this off season along with some depth.

I'm pretty much done with predicting optimistic things about this team. I'll get optimistic when they start winning and won't predict they will until they do.

A healthy Cam can win by himself so it really comes down to him....he took Ted Ginn to the super bowl. We scored alot of pts that year for as little fire power as we had around Cam. Not saying completely by himself but with a healthy defense and a good offseason.

Our home finale that year was a win against a bad Cardinals team that definitely didn't take over the stadium. This will be worse.

patriots fans didn't take over that game in 2001. i was there. it was a completely miserable day where it was like raining sideways.

it was so quiet we could hear from the other side of the field a random patriots player screaming "PACK THE fuging UHAUL" which didn't make sense to me at the time and still doesn't.

the only reason we stayed as long as we did is my dad started shitting his guts out at the beginning of the fourth quarter and was camped out in one of the family bathrooms so i just went back and sat down

Speaking of taking over games..............did you see the Raider fans at the Chargers game?

I have never in my life seen such a dominance by a visiting team..........all the seats where covered in a sea of Black and Silver. There were only a few scattering of Charger blue jersey's around.

What a huge mistake to yank the Chargers out of San Diego where they had a loyal fan based and put them in a town along with the Rams where neither of those teams alone would carry a following..........

    • I'd give it a C mainly because of Brooks.  If we just didn't have a 2nd I'd argue B to B+ tbh. Brooks was a bad gamble, tho one that could still pay off long term. Yes XL only has 400 yards but... Look who is throwing him the ball. And I think he isn't a "true #1" but he's been able to consistently get open. Hands definitely need to be cleaned up.  But he should end the year with 500-600 yards. Like you said - Sanders looks great.  Get him a better QB / more time with a QB and I think he's gonna impress. We added a couple rotational players on D that have both made plays and show promise for the future from later rounds. So I'd say, Brooks really hurts this drafts grade. It'll be interesting to see how it progresses over the next 3 years. I've overall really liked Morgan's FA acquisitions, so...
    • Oh he would absolutely flourish. It’s the panthers way. It’s no different with coaches. Sometimes they reach their expiration date, go somewhere else, and find new success.  Similarly to Burns, how long to wait for the light to finally turn on?  Market forces will demand a salary that the panthers can not responsibly match. Sliding him to guard will fit his skill set better, but he has played LT for 3 years. He will receive offers from other teams wanting to pay him LT money.  At guard, he won’t start with what they have paid Hunt and Lewis. Center then?? Dunno. Maybe? He will become a backup by default once they draft their stud LT. I doubt Dan just stands pat. That’s not his MO.  So where does this put him? Can you match what other teams will offer for a backup LT/guard? Do you dish out franchise LT $ on a guy who still needs significant improvement in pass protection. This team will be DOA in the playoffs with the very first team who has a formidable speed rusher. What if he has hit his ceiling in pass protection already and they sign him long term? It’s a big gamble either way.
    • We're in a great position to see just how big of a misstep it would be, having made so many ourselves
