"I think this is a overall failure as a organization right now"

I don't disagree with you, but as far as the product on the field, we have yet to see an improvement with our new owner.  There's a difference between no improvement vs totally terrible, of course.

That's where the frustration comes from. Its a small sample size for a "what have you done for me lately" league.

yeah, and say what you want about Ron, but the team today felt so much worse than even our bad losses with him.  I know we got blown out vs ATL, but this just *felt* different.  Guys were quitting on plays, totally undisciplined... Just awful.

For real and it sucked. I echo again that its different with a mid season fire and we had SOME expectations this season as opposed to 2010 where there were absolutely NONE.

You're right about guys quitting... it's gutting. Guys never quit under Ron.

Hell I don't think guys quit in 2010, we were just that bad. This team has more talent than 2010, but this lack of effort has put them on basically the same level.

yeah we went into 2010 knowing that the only way that team was going to perform is if Matt Moore was actually The Savior.  And it became very quickly apparent he was not.

This season it took a while for the wheels to fall off, but now, it feels like we've turned into a massive dumpster fire.

Yeah you get a certain baseline level of effort with Ron that looks better than what we saw today.  He isn't a truly great coach, but he does some things quite well and had just run his course here.  Which is something that has happened to coaches better than him too, like Andy Reid.

I will say it's gonna be ugly on this site when he gets hired on to one of the coveted vacancies and has that team competing and playing hard next year while we still suck.

Greg's not wrong, but these final weeks were always going to be a $hitshow

Today was brutal, but there really is nothing to be gained from winning at this point. Still utterly unacceptable effort from a lot of guys

There have been injuries, etc, and this season was doomed when Cam went down, but anyone who doesn't think complacency hasn't set in the last couple of years hasn't been paying attention.

This team isn't going to compete again until we have a culture change. Tepper gets that.

It was never going to be easy. We are stuck in a weird spot right now, and it sucks bad for guys like Olsen, but it's way too early to say this isn't the right direction for the team

The complacency is proof that a bunch of players don't need to be on this team next year either. They are playing for their jobs as much as the coaches are. Luke and Shaq seem to be giving effort on defense but that's about it.

Two of the teams that he has the most interest in coaching - Chicago and San Diego - are teams we play next year.

Something to consider...

If not for firing Rivera, would we have known that some of these guys were quitters?

there's a clip from last game of Luke giving up on a play.  he is by no means a quitter.

i'm not going to judge any of these players as "quitters" for what is going on.  they aren't being put in positions to succeed.

doesn't mean they are all coming back, but yeah.

I disagree vehemently. Tepper has invested majorly on restructuring and revamping the operational side of the business, which Richardson had completely gutted and neglected towards the end of his tenure (something that helped facilitate his toxic work environment).  He built a legitimate practice bubble for inclement weather so the team isnt going to have to practice in a ballroom. He's investing in a legitimate HQ for the team. He's accessible and accountable to fans.

On the football side, Tepper gave Rivera and Hurney a fair chance to make their case.  He realized it wasn't going to work and is making changes.

There needs to be some patience while this transition takes place. There's nothing more he can really do on the football side until the season ends.

Time will tell.

Blown out by Atlanta. Blow. Out by the 49ers by 40 points.  Thoroughly beaten by the redskins

yeah Ron Would have made a difference
