Where's the enthusiasm?

I'll be watching,,      We're playing for nothing.  Unless losing and getting  a better draft position is something,, so that's not exciting..   Playing for bragging rights over the Colts and we can rub it in the face of all the Colt Fans in Indiana ,, oh yeah,, what a rivalry..   "Take that you  rascally Colt fan ,,  how'd that taste "

So,,    My  Hope is that we don't play  CMC ,,  and shut him down for the season..  no need to take a chance on a stupid injury..

This is the answer. Even with Cam Newton losing seasons were pretty lackluster this time of year.

Oh come on. Even as recent as 2017 Cam dragged this team to the playoffs as our leading rusher.

Even the losing seasons with Cam were more entertaining than watching scrappy gym rats lob passes to opposing linemen for fun.

Sure, but overall interest was still low. Once the playoffs are out of reach fan interest plummets. Just the way it goes.

Far more often than not with #1 on the field we knew we at least had a fighting chance against any team, even in losing seasons.

Let's just be real about the Carolina Panthers culture when Cam arrived in 2011. There really wasn't any. Yeah we had some fun competitive years with Jake, but the embarrassment of 2009 and 2010 really sunk any momentum or relevancy we had built up as a young franchise. Upon arriving Newton caught near endless flack for being salty about losing and not accepting mediocrity. Yet he brought the franchise back to the forefront.

Whatever happens in 2020, if Cam isn't here we need someone with even a shred of his prime competitiveness for this team to feed off of, or it's just going to be more of the same wallowing in mediocrity again like 2010.

I think you are looking back through Cam colored glasses. Losing seasons always brought low attendance, low enthusiasm, and a light training camp fan attendance the following year. Even with Cam. Especially the game before Christmas. The stadium is empty if it isn't a playoff year. Those that do attend leave at halftime.

Cam is out that took out 40% (who will be gone if Cam is ends up leaving anyways).

Kyle turned out to be a dud there goes another 40%.

What we have here is mostly true Panther fans.

But alas the next two weeks are the only weeks left with Panther football before the long hard winter known as the offseason begins and so I’ll be watching here in the Midwest hoping we do well but lose for our draft pick drinking (lots of) beer.

cheers

This feels like when Fox was going out and we had Pickles.

worst really. We had a better overall team behind the quarterback. There was Jonathan Stewart, DeAngelo and Goodson, Steve Smith and Jordan Gross among others.

we have true turd for a team on defense right now and a 50/50 Oline. Promising is CMac, Olsen, and DJ. That’s about it.
