Where's the enthusiasm?

I've been a member of this group since Zod was a baby.  I've always loved the friendly banter as well as the upscale reporting that Jeremy does for this team.  You would come to this site to get a real feel of what's happening.  Not so much as of late.  This year has been "hum drum".  No upbeat information.  It's as if we have given up.  I for one know we aren't going to win out.  We could, but the statistic show otherwise.  I'm looking forward to seeing Grier command an offensive squad.  Will he get sacked?  Probably.  Will he learn how to read the defense?  Probably.  Can he get the ball out quick when the offensive line is collapsing around him?  Time will tell.  So, put a smile on your face and watch what happens.  The team needs us and I for one will not let this team down.

Since 2015 ended with a moan, it has been one year of disapointment after another. 2016, fans lost a fun player and turned on our most winning GM for being an ass. 2017 brought us back Hurney, who in the end does not win and took one season to put together a squad that droped 22 (edit 18) loses in the next two years while mishandling/carrer murdering our franchise's best, most liked and most amazing player. Now our coach is gone (at least a year after his issues were known and insurmountable, i think 2), the GM who can't win is still here with a huge WTF in the air on how long we will have to suffer through his 'skills' and flat not winning and our entire deffense is in desperate need of help and direction. CMC is basically the bright spot at the moment and i have a feeling the Lions & Sanders comparison is apt. Our Owner has shown very little football ability but is lining up to make money hand over fist regardless while sprinkling us with hope through lip service and a domed practice field. Next year could be worse so yeah, kinda bleak.

Im going to watch the game anyways, eat some food and contemplate the fate of PSLs. It's grim but honestly, that's not new. I doubt to see anything good until the coach search and acquisition but then that giant WTF of incompetence will still be here giving it his all to ensure we don't win because that is what he has done for more than a decade. We will see what is what after the draft and utill then i don't imagine much enthusiasm because the team hasn't given us much reason to have any. Enjoy football because it's  football not because its good football.

This is debatable.

Ron's ho-hum, "well, there's always next week" approach sucked the life out of the fan base.  That and him pummeling Cam into the ground...  Cam provided that electricity for the players and fans alike...  so, losing him and losing games has definitely taken some wind out of our sails.

    • Yeah and he succeeded at an even higher level in LA with an even better surrounding cast. Goff is a guy that isn't really able to dramatically elevate players around him but he can make a good situation even better. He is capable of that. Some QB's aren't. I am not sure Dak is able to do that and he is in a similar "class" as Goff, IMO.
    • i think i could handle that for a year. beyond that....i don't know.  back where we lived, when we had a few inches of snow, it might have been a couple feet because we weren't getting out and doing anything. i remember times where power would go out for days on end. we had propane and electric heat, depending on the floor. basement (had a couple bedrooms and a living room and kitchen down there) and main floor had gas logs. main floor gas logs was enough to take care of the upstairs, so we could stay warm and cook on the grill when we needed. we had a well so that was always an issue when the power went out. had to make sure tubs were filled with water for the toilets and we had gallons of water for drinking and cooking available. always had to make sure we were ready. that wasn't always the case. we had a couple moments where we were going through propane quickly and because we were dealing with the worst propane company in the world (amerigas) they wouldn't get out to put gas in our 900 gallon tank. made for some nerve racking moments.  i know y'all were probably a lot more able to handle that kind of thing, but after the little bit (comparatively) that we got here i just have no desire to get trapped again. maybe for a day or two a year get snowed in and i'm good.
    • I think he is just drawing a DC to them line and that's about as far as his thought process went. It makes almost no sense outside of that. Also, it doesn't make sense for Pittsburgh or Seattle at this juncture either.  I think our "veteran" pool is basically gonna be the Dalton/Flacco tier or the "pick your poison" options of young busts(Jones/Z. Wilson) or wild, TO prone gunslingers(Darnold/Winston/etc). We have the option to pursue I genuinely believe(depending on the way the rest of this season goes), we either draft a QB in the top 10 or resign Dalton. Outlier third option on taking one of the wild gunslingers that Dave feels like he can work with.
