Saturday Week 16 Games Thread

Bill Walsh's 49er teams used to drive people batsh-t crazy because they never looked especially dangerous.

You didn't necessarily see a whole lot of big, flashy plays. It was just three yards here, four yards there, and then suddenly before you knew it there at your ten yard line, knocking on the door.

Efficiency might not be the most exciting thing in the world, but the Niners and the Patriots have shown it can be extremely effective.

Plays like that last one are why I don't give a damn about players having "cannon arms".

When you're an NFL quarterback, being able to throw it a mile or throw it a hundred miles an hour doesn't mean that much. You have to be able to throw it to a specific spot. If you can't, how hard and how far you throw it doesn't mean jack.

Now that was a great throw. Despite doing virtually nothing all half long it looks like this may go into half tied.

Favre used to be like that when he was young.

That's the essence of a big-play offense I guess. You can fail or be average for seven plays in a row but then go for it all on one.

If a combination of Nick Caserio and Josh McDaniels could bring that kind of thing to Carolina...

It can’t. And it’s not worth trying to find out for sure, we’ve seen this story many times already.

I'm telling you, Josh Allen is much better on drives he can scramble.  All mental I imagine, but really seems that way

Gotta use the tools you have. Cam was the same way, even at his absolutely best. Always seemed like he needed a couple of runs to really settle in and then he was good to go. Allen is still really rough as a passer though. Rougher than Cam ever was to be honest.
