Perry Said He'll Be Feeding McCaffrey the Ball "As Much as We Can".. Do You Think CMC Gets becomes the 3rd NFL Player to reach 1000/1000 ??

  1. 1. Will he do it?

Currently he has 1,307 rushing yards , doesn't need any more of those. Hell they could line him up in the slot and out wide for the last 2 games to get him the record easier if they wanted to.

He has 814 receiving yards, meaning CMC needs 186 receiving yards to reach that mark.

Only Rodger Craig (1985) and Marshall Faulk (1999) have done it. So he'd be joining some very rare company and it would be a huge honor to have to go along with his first pro bowl selection and hopefully Offensive Player of the Year.

He's also close to the 2019 rushing title but Nick Chubb is really pulling away from him recently.

The one curve ball here is Will Grier. We have no idea what kind of chemistry he has with McCaffrey or how much he will even target him. Scott might call the plays but Grier ultimately is making the choices of where the ball goes.  If we make it super obvious the defenses will just pile on CMC so.. it could make for an interesting watch the last 2 games.

I'm going to do a nice write up after our last game comparing CMC with HoF RBs their stats and accomplishments in their first 3 seasons.. its going to be fun. He's blowing Marshal Faulk out of the water at this point.

Some early Comparisons :

  • CMC ::  2840 Rushing Yards // 2332 Receiving Yards// 5172 yards from scrimmage // 38 Total TDs
  • M.Faulk : 2957 Rushing Yards // 1425 Receiving Yards // 4382 yards from scrimmage // 33 Total TDs
  • W.Payton : 3921 Rushing Yards // 631 Receiving Yards // 4552 yards from scrimmage  // 36 Total TDs
  • Emmit Smith :  4213 Rushing Yards // 821 Receiving Yards // 5034 yards from scrimmage // 43 Total TDs

Perry coming with the HOT takes. I'd never had suspected that approach to this offense.

We’re going to throw off the opposing defenses by doing what we know they’re thinking we’ll do and prepare for us knowing they know what we do and planning to do the opposite of what we do by doing what we normally do

Brilliant!

He is definitely going to get this mark but will it be this year?  Don’t really care this guy is amazing and durable as hell.  He is the best offensive player in the league right now.  His fantasy numbers have been flat out ridiculous and that is IMO one of the best measures of a players worth.

Lamar is the MVP but CMC is the most complete back you will find.  I would be glad to negotiate his next deal.  Pay him.

    • Lol.  Now you make me defend DG. We had the best IOL in the league under DG and Oher looked solid until he got that bad concussion. DG drafted Moton and Daryl Williams as well. The OL fell apart under Hurney 2.0 and Fitterer. DG also drafted Star and Short. Sorry, but that was all in 5 drafts so let’s not make stuff up about not trying to improve hog mollies. Gettleman did a ton wrong and took the wrong guys, but he and Rivera had a deep and talented team and it got blown up really quickly. Also, I love Cam but he wasn’t the best QB in the league. He had the best year in 2015 but he wasn’t Brady. I think Dan has had a solid offseason, way better than last year but I’m not putting on rose colored glasses until we actually have a 10 win season. Again, Dave and Ron had 3 10+ wins seasons out of 5.
    • Yeah I wont often comment on a coddled generation and participation trophies but this sort of begs for it. Also how did an athlete achieve at that level without getting a thicker skin?
    • Right, basically what I said. Dude is crowning Dan after a 5-12 season and 1 draft, which as of right now, wasn’t good. I wasn’t judging Morgan at all. People read what they want to read like that I loved Gettleman and think he was awesome. Nope. All I said is that it’s way too freaking early to act like Morgan is amazing. I used the Gettleman/Rivera record just like I mentioned that Rhule almost beat both #1 seeds in this first year. Morgan/Canales’ team would need to win 11 a year to get to a similar record as Gettleman/Rivera’s first 5. If you are going to given Morgan a pass for bad talent, we were 15-33 the 3 years prior to Gettleman/Rivera. Again, I think all of us want this team to win again but maybe I’m a little jaded in thinking that I enjoyed 2013-2017 a helluva a lot more than 2018-2024 and I’m not a fan of smoke getting blown up my ass like we have already back.
