tbqh I have not seen Mr. Scot presenting it as a done deal that Cam would be gone, as much as strong pessimism Cam would be back.  But I also honestly do not pay attention to everyone's posts so I may be missing those stated with more certainty.

There it is ..

https://www.carolinahuddle.com/2017/03/13/carolina-panthers-buffalo-bills-tre-boston/

"Now this morning there appears to be whispers of an unnamed team wanting to trade for Tre Boston. I would bet at least one dollar that it is again Sean McDermott wanting now a defensive player from his system in Buffalo. Boston has played both safety positions in McDermott’s defense and would be a huge asset for him as the team learns the requirements of the new scheme.

But what would the Carolina Panthers demand in trade for Boston? Although he failed to perform at a high level, Boston still adds value as a solid backup when needed. For that type of player, I would assume at least a 4th round draft pick would be needed to pry him away. After all, it is no guarantee that a 4th round player ever develops into a backup player in the NFL.

Stay tuned as this situation develops this week."

Igo was literally the only person reporting this.

Do you think I was talking about Jeremy or me?

It’s really weird to take what these guys have said in public as a sign of what their future intentions are. First, Tepper has only ever said a “healthy Cam”. He said it eight times that week in an interview. Those lines aren’t hard to read between for that to be part of your key evidence that he’s staying. And of course Cam is going to say he wants to be here. Remember when Kemba said he’d take less money to stay here? Have you all just started watching sports? That’s almost always what the athlete says. These guys aren’t going to show their hands in public until they have to. There is a VERY legit chance that he isn’t here next year. Both sides are making preparations. And that should have all the Cam lovers, me included, fuging worried. I’m sorry that you guys can’t handle that truth without ripping me, Igo, or whoever. But that’s your problem.

it's mostly just Scot that everyone is ripping. I know ya'll have more connections for information than anyone on the board. It's more infuriating that Scot is taking what ya'll speculate on and preaching it like the gospel.

Speculation suggests I have no evidence.

Oh 100% understand Tepper waiting and seeing. It’s a multi-billion dollar purchase. You weigh everything and take what helps beat the team. Which is why I said if we get a king’s ransom, you trade him while you can. If we get an offer of a 2nd rounder then let it ride and see what we got with him for middle of the pack QB money

@thefuzz when the guy says no matter what comes out or what Cam says the situation won’t change means it’s already a predetermined outcome. That’s not debatable, you can claim it’s him saying that Cam’s comments won’t “sway” Tepper but in reality it sets a precedent that Tepper has his mind made up and nothing will stop it.

Well then, you should have no trouble finding quotes where I actually said that it was a done deal and nothing could change it, right?

Yeah, except I've never said "done deal, he's gone".

But as mentioned, it's easier to debate against an argument you deliberately mischaracterize than the actual argument.

no, you hedge your bets by saying "we don't know for sure" but then argue as though you know for sure with staggering levels of condescension

What he is doing is looking at the wording very carefully.  I am VERY guilty of this as I work in a business where misunderstanding what someone is meaning can cost 10's of thousands of dollars in very quick order.

I pick apart words for a living.  I ask people all the time to restate exactly what they mean, as I have to understand it fully.

Until recently Cam had said very little about wanting to play for the Carolina Panthers next season, and has yet to say, "I intend to play out my contract with the Panthers."  Nor has Tepper stated anything like that with no qualifiers.

Both of them are being very careful with their words, and Scot is reading into that....as am I.  Now many fans will hear Cam say that Charlotte is home, and think that means he wants to play here, I'm different.  That may be what Cam is implying, but it may not be.

EVERYTHING in this organization is fluid right now, with the only constant being Dave Tepper.  People that think otherwise, are like I said, either naive or have an agenda.

So I've got one person complaining that I'm saying it's a done deal and another person complaining that I'm saying it's not for certain

And I understand that but he then digs in without relent and does exactly what Philly said. He’ll never be caught using the words, just implying with everything he has. It’s like being a lawyer and playing defense constantly

A few seconds ago you were saying that I was claiming it was a done deal.

Weird

Nothing wrong with that.  If you take issue with it, put Scot on ignore.

Some of us are very pessimistic about this team and their moves, and for good reason, I am very much one of them, and will continue to be until this team is run like an actual smart business.

So far Tepper nor Cam are speaking in definitives, and even when they do I recommend you take those words with grains of salt as well.  Hell, my favorite Panther, and a man that I have much respect for actually said that he would never play for another team as long as he lived.

He's playing for the Chargers.
