I don't think he will be in Carolina. I'm worried about the foot and shoulder .

Fair enough.

Is this because you believe the foot & shoulder have taken him out of the league?

Or is it a case where Tepper decides to cut ties for those reasons (foot & shoulder) and some other team decides to gamble on them?

Teddy Bridgewaters don't grow on trees.

Who do you suggest the Hurndog should have brought in going into the 2019 who would sign as a backup QB, and could also compete at the level Bridgewater has?

Looking at the issues with this present team, I don't know if we could make the playoffs in this year's NFC even with 2015 Cam playing QB. The defense is a total wreck.

Not sure. Either I guess.

Tepper has had a team for two years. Both years Cam hasn't been able to finish the season. I'd think that would make an impression.

Might not be a better option next year.

We might have to start thinking further down the road.

I think that's what we tried to do with the defense and OL this year. I'm all for protecting the future, but damn... you gotta take care of the here and now too. That's the difference with a team like the Steelers. They're always looking out for the future, but they're also an 8-6 team even thought they're down to their #3 QB at this point.

Rodrigue has said that he was already iffy on extending Newton when he bought the team.

The last two years haven't really helped.

There's no logic in your not thinking he will be in Carolina .. just a Hot Take that will get peoples panties in a bunch meaning clicks for you

It is not logical in anyway for Cam not to be a Panther in 2020

Yeah, it's not like he hasn't completed a season since 2017.

The issue with this whole thing is going to be timing.  When will Tepper get to see Cam at full strength?  What are the contingencies during free agency and the draft if Cam can't go, or decides to hold out for a new contract?

What a mess.

Tepper's comments about how we might need to lose for a while to build a winner are accurate.

They're also unpleasant to think about.

It will be a mess for sure. Cam may not be able to participate in OTAs or mini camp.

And then do you play him in the preseason? Yes?no? If not you want to start a guy that hasn't played football in nearly a year?

I'm not sure there's any logic to any of this. It just seems that at this point most people have made up their minds on what either they want to happen or what they think will happen and nothing is gonna change their minds either way.
