Eh.....I don't think you will see that happen unless we have some issues in the coaching staff and/or front office(which remains to be seen). If Grier was the next Tom Brady, he probably wouldn't be riding the pine behind UDFA Kyle Allen. 

If we decide to roll with a 2nd year rookie as starter next season after two games, well, I am going to interpret that as the "five year" quote from Tepper. Rebuild incoming.

I said the worst that could happen is he has 2 really good games, everyone anoint him like what happened with Kyle Allen.

then Cam gets moved, we have Will and Kyle for next season and then Will shows his true colors.

He's going to look like Kyle Allen or worse and it's going to be evident that we either

A. Don't have a QB

B. Draft a QB who won't suck (highly unlikely, even with #1 overall picks look at Mayfield, Darnold, Goff, Wentz, all high picks and all trash)

C. Realize the law of averages say Cam is going to get and stay healthy seeing as Brees and Brady are playing into their 40's why can't this freak of an athlete that is on our roster? 

Our new HC will have an offensive philosophy, and the year we get an offensive HC is the year we part ways with Cam Newton? lol I don't think so

Yeah well that isn't what your post said but regardless, as I said, I don't think how Grier performs in two games is going to lead to him being determined to be the future of the franchise, unless we have a coaching staff/front office of dolts(to be determined). If he was considered the future for us, we'd have already seen him by now instead of watching a UDFA take the reigns for the bulk of the season. 

I also doubt his performance will have much impact on Cam's future. I don't think either Kyle or Will are good enough to be THE reason he gets moved(if that even happens at all).

We don't have a QB.

Well Cam was once one of those QB's so.......they aren't all unsuccessful.

Neither Brees nor Brady play the game like Cam. Cam's style of play also generally leads to more wear and tear. Certainly the fact that he is not coddled by the league/refs like Brees/Brady has led to more wear and tear.

See how these two aren't the same thing? 

That's not the point, however. Same as I replied to both your posts. The odds of Grier having two great games are already low. The odds of him being anointed as the next great thing(outside perhaps the Huddle) by the people that MATTER are even lower. 

The honest "worst case" for him would be to win the two games and ruin our draft position. It's much more likely than him being declared 2020 starter based on a two game performance. As I said in my original reply, if that DID happen, you would have to question what in the world the new coaches/new front office were thinking. That's a recipe for a long rebuild indeed.

Against Arizona at their stadium. It was a very good performance. I am as critical of him as anyone but he played very well in that game(outside the 3 fumbles).

Ideal outcome. Grier plays well, CMC has a pass attempt blocked, catches it and runs for a TD. Patriots finally get punished (lose their 1st 3 picks for the next 6 years) and the Panthers are given their 2nd and 3rd round picks this year as a partial recompense for the 2003 SB.
