Man, I could see us dropping down to 7 provided we keep losing. Chargers and Jags got one more win in them, and you never know with that Jets team

I think 8 is best we will get. The top 4 aren’t winning another two games let alone 1. Lions aren’t beating the packers. Cardinals aren’t beating Seattle or LA. Jets not beating Steelers or Bills. Jaguars can beat the Falcons and there we are #8.

If we tie vs. charges at 5-11 who gets what?

Hopefully we play Grier the last two games. Much less of a chance we beat the Colts and possibly an Aints team resting starters

Not so certain the Saints will rest starters.  They are gunning for home field advantage

Saints (11-3)- own tiebreaker over Seattle.  SF owns tiebreaker over Saints.  At Tennessee NEXT week.

SF (11-3)- Rams at home next week.

As long as the Rams dont beat SF next week, the Saints will have to play the starters.  SF plays AT Seattle week 17.  So Saints would still be in the hunt for that #1 seed

I'll be watching the Saints game tonight to pull for the Colts. Hopefully the Colts can pull off a miracle.

Actually

IF the Saints Lose tonight and SF wins next week.  That will knock the saints out of Home field advantage and most likely would mean resting starters vs us week 17

This is a nightmare. Now I have to pull for the Saints. What a season.

Saints aren't even guaranteed a 1st round bye yet either.  Greenbay is 11-3 as well.  Saints Could win out and still end with the #3 seed.  A loss for the Saints puts them a full game behind SF, Seattle, and Greenbay.  Meaning strong possibility of a resting starters type game vs us.

I was working on this, and this is what I came up with:

Arizona (4-9-1) @Seattle; @ Rams --I see little chance the Cards get another win this year. Root for the Cards if you believe in miracles. Prediction:  4-11-1

NY Jets (5-9) vs. Pittsburgh; @ Buffalo—Pittsburgh’s Hodges looked like Allen last week.  Could the Jets take the Pittsburgh game?  The SOS (strength of schedule) is low—tying the Jets does not help. Root for the Jets to beat Pittsburgh week 16 in NY.   Prediction: 5-11.

Jacksonville (5-9) @ Atlanta; vs. Indianapolis---The best chance for the Jags is probably a home win vs. the Colts during week 17.  Jags will be dogs both weeks, however. Even if the Panthers and Jags tie, Jags have the more favorable SOE. However, the good news?  If Atlanta beats Jacksonville, they probably take Atlanta out of the picture should the Panthers win a game.  Prediction: 5-11.

Los Angeles Chargers (5-9)  vs. Oakland, @ Kansas City—The home game vs. the Raiders offers the best chance for a victory week 16, HOWEVER, there is a scenario where the Chiefs have nothing to play for to secure the #3 AFC playoff seed.  If that is the case, could the Chargers steal a win like the Panthers did vs. New Orleans last year?  With a few players coming off injuries, I see Andy Reid resting starters.  The Chargers have a SOE slightly more favorable than the Panthers, but the Chargers are better than their record.  I see a win vs. Oakland or a freebie vs. KC.  Prediction (6-10).

Denver (5-9) vs. Detroit; vs. Oakland---With 2 home games against losing teams and a strong SOS, the Broncos are the most likely team to leapfrog, assuming the Panthers lose out.  I see Denver winning one, if not both of their games—a dome team in Mile High Stadium in late December?  Not ideal for the Motor City Simbas. Root for Denver to beat Detroit week 16. Prediction: 7-9.

Note: CBS has Denver behind Carolina (#10) at #11 based on SOS, but “Tankathon” has Denver at #10 and Carolina at #11. Regardless, root for Denver.  Here is the CBS link that includes SOS before Monday night’s game:
