If you are playing Irvin and not developing your first round pick, you are more interested in winning meaningless games over developing a pro-bowler who will dominate the league over the next 10 years--

Irvin had the same problems in Seattle as a rookie-but Carrol played him anyway.

If the run defense is the only issue, you still play him on passing situations.  I am pretty sure there were more than 7.

I remember him being on the field and looking to the sideline to see if he was going to get pulled.  That is not what your first rounder should be doing at the end of the season.

When you are coaching and drafting for your life, you aren't really looking into the future.  It's why lame duck head coaches and GMs make such a mess.

Both should have been gone last year.  A HUGE Tepper goof.

I have no idea what you are trying to say here.

I'm not a fan that really wants to see Cam have to play through a rebuild, I would prefer for him to be able to play for a contender before it's over for him.

However, as I have been saying for a very long time now.  My ideal situation is for Cam to play out his last year, stay healthy and us sign him long term.  I want that, but I don't believe it will happen.  Not sure how you are getting that confused.

And your previous post just said a rebuild is what the team needs. Your saying two different things lol. Man just stop. You sound like your trying to be smart but are really just throwing out a bunch of lines you have heard regurgitated from other people.

Re-read my post.  I edited it saying that what I want, and what is best for Cam are two different things.  I'm not trying to be cute with words here.

I think it's best for Cam to move on.

I think it's best for the team to move on, if we are committed to a full rebuild.

I don't really want Cam to move on, but feel it's probably best for both the team and Cam.

I really hate the thought of Greg Olsen's career ending like this.

That said, no way would I be in favor of bringing him back.

That's the rub.  I hated seeing Peppers, TD, and Kalil go out the way that they did here.

Seeing Cam and Olsen go out this way is going to be tough as well.  Hate that it went down like it did here....

But it's best for the teams and the players to move on, even if it's not exactly what I "want" to happen.

Lots and lots of people who AREN'T "one of the best college talent evaluators in the country" knew that before the 2019 NFL Draft.

Yet here we are.

Yup.  We drafted a player high that can really only excel in a 3/4, which diminishes our best players attributes in Luke.  We are a dumbass team.

I've had a lot of favorite players over 25 years of Panthers football.

I couldn't name one that left on a high note.

This is neither a prediction or a desire but, hypothetically, if the Panther's next HC ended up being the SF defensive coordinator, then Burns would have a great chance of becoming an impact player.

But it would take a guy invested in the 3-4 as his Base defense which absolutely doesn't fit this current team's personnel.

I mean, we don't have a hell of a lot of personnel signed long term...so we got that going for us.

Going to be a tough couple years around here, but better than the status quo and us drafting at 16 every season, and finishing 3rd in the NFCS.

To fully switch to a 34, I'm not even sure we have more than 1 defensive lineman signed that will thrive in that system, do we?
