We didn't with Norman nor Bradbury.

Maybe hire a great defensive coach as  HC. ........oh wait the great mastermind known as Ron Rivera is what left us with this mess.  

And fire Eric Washington now!  If he can’t teach em gap control what exactly is he doing. Another one of Ron’s failures.

I wonder if Burns can play 4-3 edge rusher. Not sure if he has the frame.

Either way, we can’t stop the run because we have nobody to plug the line of scrimmage. This allows blockers to get to the second level and block the LBs out of the play. It’s why we’ve seen Luke on his ass so much this year.

I hope that whichever coach comes in brings a good 4-3 oriented defensive coordinator and we get our poo together on that side of the ball. We have too much talent to be ranked 29th in run D.

This is exactly correct and what I have been preaching...we went in with no depth to our run stopping Dts and all the good ones ended up on IR. You could see the step down with KK then Poe, this also effected our pass d due to not being able to stop the run at all...PA now becomes really dangerous. We need a 350 pd freak of nature hog molly who can take on double and maybe triple teams that I hope can be found in the first! Second we need interior olineman, they will help our young tackles while they develop, imo no Tackle is perfect season 1. I watched kuechly get mauled by two olineman today on one play and the announcer compliment the HB lol.

Should never have let Star walk....beginning of the end for the run defense.

Throw in K K not producing, then getting hurt, and you have the perfect storm. That was the core of the defensive strength and it was gone. Going to the 3-4 is a total failure.

Need to keep a core few players and sh%t can the rest....have to tear it down to built it back up.

Bring KK back, Draft a NT, and sign Shelby Harris from the Broncos this offseason and we will have something cooking.

We definitely needed Star or to quickly replace him, and I think KK is much better then others give him credit for especially against the run. He is a rare 3tech I feel plays the run better then the pass, tbh making him and Star the perfect DT duo. You fix our lbers getting mauled and you fix the 34....we used it with success early in the season before injuries plagued us.

We need a better scheme, that’s basically it, d line has the talent, hell the defense In general has enough to be a fringe top 12 defense, but guys aren’t out in the best positions to win

Love your idea man, perfect for bringing our DT rotation in line with our lb rotation! Clean lbs and one on ones for a end and a lb. Also on passing downs we could deploy gmoccoy kk and the 1st rd dt for a upped pass rush.

Like the look of Derrick Brown, he could even add a little weight with that frame!
