Inside Panthers-Saints (how I see it)

Have the Saints been REALLY tested yet?? seriously. the Saints are the best team in the NFL right now (IMO), but they have yet to face a team that poses a real threat. you can say philly, but they faced a QB making his first NFL start, and turned the ball over several times. The were forced to come from behind in Miami, but since when has Miami been a defensive power house? We all know about the Giants, their schedule was extremely easy just like the Saints, I dont think they are who we thought they were, the Saints crushed them.

Call me delusional  But I really think that we are the Saints first real test. Its a divisional game, and I really think we are better than the Falcons (who will lose tonght, by the way.) Our defense is getting better by the week, and we were able to contain "the best WR in the NFL" Larry Fitzgerald, and kept him out of the endzone. To me, this game will come to Defense, we all know the Saints can play offense, but this game will be decided on 1 of the 3 things:

1- Can the Panthers defense ground the Saints (pass and run)?

2- Can the Saints stop the Panthers run game?

3- (not mentioned above) the Jake Delhomme game- do we get good jake or bad Jake?

I would say atl tonight is a bigger test than us. But division games are always big tests.

I don't think so. Do you really trust ATL's defense? Michael Turner has been marginal at best. ATL's strength is their pass game. I will say that im biased, but had our defense brought their A game in week 2, we would have beaten ATL.

If we can run the ball (I'm pretty sure we can, based on our performance against the #1 rushing defense in the league), and we don't turn the ball over, we will have a chance to beat the Saints. Our defense has been playing lights out and did a fantastic job against another great passing offense in the Cardinals. Run the ball, control the clock, pressure Brees, win the turnover battle and we'll be in this one.

The problem with the Saints is they can score an arse load of points in 1 quarter if they get hot. The only way I can really see us winning this game is if we can really control the clock for the entire game. I'm hoping we can pick up 6-8 yards on running plays and turn in multiple 8min + possesions and just keep Brees off the field.

I don't see us being able to run the ball with out Hoover in the game, the games he has missed we have run poorly and the games where he has been in there we have been effective running the ball. Just look yesterday, once he left the field we could barely move the ball. We need a healthy Hoover to run the rock, however if we can somehow win the TO battle again we could have a chance.

It's true we didn't run as well after Hoover left, but Delhomme left not too long afterwards and Foxie would just not let Moore through the ball. I'm not saying he should have thrown it, but Zona knew we were going to run and put every defender on the line.

Im pretty sure we can run the ball on them, and our top ranking D can slow down Brees, but if we start the turnovers then we are as good as done. No way they can stop Brees repeatedly with a short field and a tired D.

Our DLine is one of the best at putting pressure on the QB and making them panic or force so hopefully that can help Sherrod Martin have another picktastic game.

So don't screw us Delhomme. All he has to do is keep the safeties from continously putting 8 in the box, make a few good passes to keep them honest.

Pretty much. Eli is a better QB than Delhomme and we made him look silly. Imagine how we'll make turnover-prone Jake look.

First off the Giants D is crap.

Thats if he even plays this week.

We beat the Aints twice last year, we might as well keep the tradition going.

Lets reintroduce them to Double Trouble but thats Mr. Williams and Mr. Stewart to you Aints fans. Im sure you'll remember them.

Let Double Troble run all day, keep Brees off the field=Panthers win. The question is will Davidson be smart enough to do so. I have all the trust in the world in Meeks.

The Saints are a better team?

The Eagles were better than the Raiders, Panthers better than Bills, Patriots better than Jets, Steelers better than Bengals. Look how they turned out.
