If Cam is traded will you follow him to a new team?

I'm almost done with the NFL anyway, so this could likely be the tipping point to put me over the edge of not really caring about football anymore. That would certainly mean that I wouldn't follow the Panthers as closely anymore.

I've given them over 25 years of my life. That's plenty, especially if we allow some small part of the fan base to run our best QB, and certainly one of our only "franchise" players out of town because of "reasons" that they pass off as injury concerns, etc.

He's 30 years old, which is still young by franchise QB standards. Yes he's been banged up a bit and, yes, next season is the final year he's under contract. Moving forward, he's our best hope.

30 year old with a 40 year old shoulder. Fuggin tragic.

I'm not buying that.

If that is the case, then you can blame the Panthers medical staff, Ron Rivera, Marty Hurney, and David Gettleman.

I'm still of the thought that Cam gets healthy, comes back and balls out, and signs a long ass deal to remain here for the rest of his career. I'll believe anything else when I see it.

Must be the same people that made a Go Fund Cam Newton to stay in Carolina account on Facebook. I mean what the hell they think that is going to keep him here. I mean that is freaking crazy, I just don't understand people anymore.

It's really weird. If only there were any really good causes to give spare money too this time of year that would make an actual difference in someone's life.

I’d almost say if the Panthers cut ties he retires... I don’t see any NFL team giving big picks for him. It’s obvious if the Panthers felt he has ANY chance of being even 2017 level again, they keep him... I would rather have Cam or Allen start 2020 if we are trying to win... we are not going to the postseason with a QB controversy. I think this team could have 1-2 good seasons with Allen if we fix the O-line next year and groom a QB to take over once Allen is due for an extension... if Cam passes a physical before the league year, he will be the QB in 2020

2 procedures, arm completely fell off a year ago and he himself said his shoulder was sore for game 2. All this after months of rest and relatively light workload in camp and preseason.

That ain't a 30 year olds shoulder., unfortunately.

he was making the throws though, and when you look at the throws he was making essentially with no planting foot, he looked super human.

anyway to answer OP question yes of course i'd follow him to a new team and a co-favorite team until he retires.

Andrew Luck had a worse shoulder injury than Cam and rehabbed it back to almost 100%, had a great comeback season where he went back to being elite

True he retired, but it wasn't because of his shoulder

If Cam looked more like Andrew Luck, people wouldn't be so dismissive of his odds to return to form

week 1 he did make some nice throws, albeit nothing deep like he normally does.  and he also had trouble going right in both game 1 (2/6 throwing to this right) and game 2 (5/14).  This is in contrast to a much higher completion percentages to other parts of the field (game 1: ~70%, game 2: ~54%) but I am hoping that is just circumstantial and is not indicative of something worse.

regardless I will root for him wherever he plays, and hopefully that is healthy and with us, but I will be a Panthers fan first and foremost.

Jeremy has been beating the same drum for months. Even back through training camp. It's a shame to see intelligent people so hopelessly bitter just because.

To answer the question though I will support Cam as a player wherever he goes, and I will happily root for him as long as he isn't playing for one of our division rivals. Panthers/Hornets are who I rep. I don't do any of that shameless bandwagon nonsense. It's that simple, and I honestly don't think more than a very tiny percentage of fans will be any different.
