Curtis Samuel is not killing drives

Curtis Samuel being bad and Kyle Allen being bad are not mutually exclusive, FYI.

Of course but it looks worse for the qb when everyone knows he's a backup AND said wr is on every list that suggest his lack of production is on the qb.

Curtis being on damn near every list also helps with the "look how many yards Kyle Allen has left on the field(which he has)"

Like you said doesn't mean Curtis hasn't disappointed some just means that his disappointment along with poor deep balls and struggling Oline just compounds it.

Samuel is also on a whole slew of lists that suggest he is also a problem.

You're right, he is on every list...including the list for most drops, lowest separation, etc.

It's fair to wonder how many yards he has missed out on because of the lack of an accurate deep ball from Allen, but it's also fair to wonder how many of those he would have actually caught.  It's awfully charitable to assume he would have caught all/most of those high-difficulty catches, considering he has shown a penchant to drop balls that hit him right in the chest.

Devin Funchess is one of the slowest #1 receivers to play in the NFL - only to be outdone by his previous teammate Kelvin Benjamin.

Comparing Samuel to him is just INACCURATE. Ted Ginn is probably a better comparison. Though Samuel isn't as likely to drop wide open TDs that hit him in the hands as he's streaking 10 yards in front of the nearest defender. So, I'd say a more reliable Ted Ginn could be his floor. A strong-armed QB could make that work big time.

Def a big speed difference. No comparison there. I was speaking more on how they catch ( or don’t catch). They are just athletic guys that suit up at receiver rather than natural receivers.

Samuel is a good third option but until he can reliably catch a ball with his hands, it doesn't matter if he has Kyle Allen or Patrick Mahomes throwing bombs to him. Unfortunately even if he can outrun his receiver, he hasn't demonstrated he can reliably catch a ball he has to reach out for in stride instead of corraling against his chest. I am holding out for the possibility he improves his catching and we get a healthy Cam because then maybe he will finally look like a competent #2.

I prefer a healthy CAM next year but at the very least can we get someone who can throw deep.

cam can throw deep. his shoulder looked outstanding this year. some people who don't know what they were watching think it was still rusty but the throws he was making essentially 1 legged with a lisfranc injury was super human.
