Not to mention the people who really know football and scout for a living understand how rare a commodity like cam is. Norris is still beating the Cam drum as only those who think some savior is gonna fall into our lap outside the top 5 are saying different. Franchise or elite QBs dont grow on trees. I mean my god how long has it been since the dolphins had one? Dan Marino? What about the Redskins?

Has Cam stated once that he A. wants to continue to play football, or B. wants to play for the Panthers next season.

You are gnashing your teeth at something that Cam very well may not want to do.

If Cam decides that he doesn't want to play here any longer, the new GM decides to go his direction, the new coach and GM decide on a new direction, Cam cannot get healthy, or Cam won't play on a 1 year deal, all of this is moot.

This isn't as simple as "Cam is our best option, we must keep him" scenario.  A lot more moving pieces.

I won't deny that Cam is an elite game changing talent that puts the team on his back when he's healthy.

They key factor there is "When he's healthy". And unfortunately for Cam, he hasn't been healthy since his MVP season of 2015. This sucks and is super unfortunate. So what do we do? Do we bank our team's future on a dice roll of Cam being Healthy again, something that will not have happened in 5 full seasons at the start of the 2020 season?

I don't want to see him go, but I don't want to see him get hurt again and watch another year go down the toilet because of it.

he had said both prior to Rivera being fired. Or heavily implied B, which means A... he had an instagram post about it.

Please show me.  I have asked for this info before and all I got was him talking about his foundation staying active in Charlotte, he didn't mention football or himself.

Without Cam there is virtually no way 2020 isn't already down the toilet. Who is this franchise QB that is going to walk in the door ready to mount a playoff run as soon as Cam exits? I'd definitely like to know.

on top of that, with Rivera being fired, and the team heading for a rebuild... Why would Cam want to be our QB given he would be playing on a 1 year deal?  Why should he play a 1 year deal here to prove he can play with what will likely be a poo OL and mediocre defense?  Because the Panthers aren't likely to fix their OL and D in a single season.  And while Cam would do well with Moore, Samuel, and CMC, with Olsen on his way out and our OL sucking... This isn't the best place for a QB with an injury history to prove he is worth a major contract.

I hope Cam comes back and lights it up.  I am just skeptical he will be here next year.

Tepper has warned you that we are looking at a long term build to get this right....this isn't about this season, or next.

I have no idea, but there have been plenty of recent rookie QB's that have taken their teams to the playoffs the year after they were drafted.

He is clearly talking about returning to football.  It is also not a stretch to suggest he is talking about coming back to the Panthers there, although I suppose you can read it differently if you want.  I don't take that as him saying goodbye etc.
