Yea, I suppose you're right considering how it won't really hurt us to cut him.

It wont hurt us for him to sit out.  If he sits out he will still be under contract the following season.  With tepper saying this team is in a rebuild, there is no pressure to get him on the field

Could easily happen. Many mocks have him as low at 10.

Coach- very possible

Cam- very likely

Burrow- you need to look at different mocks-most likely #1 pick

Also we will probably win a game we shouldn’t and end up picking around 10-12

Would consider Tua If he is there if he drops because of the injury.  Not looking to trade up, this team lacks talent.  You spent a 3rd on Grier, let him play next year and see what he has. If he is terrible draft your QB the following year. New coach, new system, new QB, it’s not like we can expect to win the super bowl next year anyway.

At 10 you might could get a Brown (DT) or Delpit(S), elite prospects that fall a bit because of positional value and/or teams reaching for QBs.  Resist the urge for a WR, this class is stacked.  Should be able to get one with the second round pick.

He's UFA after next season though, right?

Not if he sits out, or doesn't report.

He will still have that year to go before being eligible for free agency.

He has to play 6 games to acrue a season towards a contract per nfl rules

Interesting.

I would love that draft scenario to happen.  Tua still ending up #1 has a chance to happen but I would be surprised if Cincy passed on a Heisman winning kid from Ohio that just blew up the SEC and the other guy has been hurt a lot.

Any scenario that gets Burrow here would be awesome for sure.

If anyone wants to know what Cincy will do they can probably just ask Belicheat.  He probably has video of their war room or at least a mole.

No.

Assuming Cam gets healthy and resumes playing --- even if he and the Panthers can never agree on another long-term contract the team controls the situation for 4 more years.

Cam is under contract for 2020....and then the team can tag him 3 straight seasons if they so desire.

Again, assuming Cam gets healthy and resumes playing at a high level, it's unlikely he ever becomes an unrestricted free-agent.

what did the football gods say will happen to marty hurney?

He will continue to take part in the draft sitting next to Mel Kiper's hair on stage all the while peddling his new product  GOATs milk, which causes delusional NFL visions but does produce a funky tasting  albeit creamy cheese.

This might be one of zods worst posts ever. Not to be outdone with  "Is Kyle Allen good enough for a Carolina Panthers playoff run? Yes, I believe he is." But realistically burrow is the number 1 consensus qb right? That means hes generally regarded as the best qb available. When has that player ever dropped out of not only the top two but top 5 ever?

And this take that we can trade our pick and a banged up Newton for their pick to take a brand new car qb that we want? Lol. Why would they risk a banged up used vehicle for a brand new sports car.  Realistically unless your ranking with Allen I'm sorry your stuck with Newton.

You really have no other options. There aren't gonna be any better options at that point. If tep is committed to winning like he says he is he cant go into next season selling you kyle Allen as the head of this offense. Your probably looking at a devil's gamble with paying Newton as much as you guys dont wanna hear that. And we have made worse gambles on jake, DeAngelo and stew. Not to mention Matt Khalil. I would bet on Newton over those guys any day of the week as well.
