Time to change playoffs

The thing is, no one can help how the divisions rotate on having terrible records or great records. A division winner deserves to have a home playoff game. That’s how it works.

the Seahawks did, we did, others have. There’s teams like the Patriots in 2009 I believe with Matt Cassel that went 11-5 and missed the playoffs.

life is brutal and unfair.

I don't even care if you take the division winner, but seeding should be based on record alone and the division winners shouldn't be guaranteed a home playoff spot.  I have no problem with Dallas or Philly making the playoffs, but they go in as the 6 seed and play away from home.

The NBA's problem has never been with their playoff system, their problem is there is no system put in place to keep Lebron James and Curry building these super teams that nobody can beat... Kawaii finally beat one, but only cause GS had half their guys hurt... Life is unfair, but he idea that teams should benefit from their division sucking is BS... You can't tell me the Panthers wouldn't have more wins if we had the Redskins, Giants, Eagles, and Cowboys... (Obviously one would have to go)… Atl sucks, but division matchups suck because the teams know each other too dang well... Not saying realign every time someone gets good, but it kind of gets old seeing us play the Saints, Falcons, and Tampa every year... Why not make it every 5-10 years divisions change up to keep it fresh? ATL is about the only team I feel any rivalry with... NO is a thorn in our butts, just prior to week 3 of 2017, they were a pushover to us... The fact is, NE has benefited from some of the weakest franchises in the NFL being in their division for 20 years... Only being challenged when Rex Ryan had 2-3 good years in NY and the one year Brady was hurt... Even this year, do you REALLY see Buffalo winning that division? Let's see them in Denver's division in 2013-2016 and see what happens. The AFC south is a joke....

The Playoffs are to determine who plays for the Superbowl,  and there is no disputing who goes there every year. The playoffs are fine the way they are.

How is there no disputing when there is history of teams winning enough games to get in over other teams, but the other teams are in the right place at the right time? So team 5 is better then team 11, but team 11 gets to go... This isn't kiddie sports, it's the NFL... It's time to evolve... Winning a crappy division says nothing except you suck so bad you couldn't win 9 games in a division with 0 teams above .500.

The way that the playoffs are seeded is dumb as it gets, and has helped the Pats to more titles that it should have.

They have the distinct benefit of playing in the weakest division in the NFL, and has been that way for over 15 years, maybe 20.

It allows them to have a home playoff game almost every year, even when other teams have a better record than they do.

I'm fine with Win and In, but the record should determine the seeding, not the divisions.

The Panthers would still have ZERO SB if we were in the AFCE. I’ve seen those teams put assbeating on us for years. I hate the Patriots too but they win and sometimes by cheating, not bc of the division

We are 5-8 and eliminated from the playoffs and the Eagles are 6-7 and tied for a playoff spot at home... time to do away with divisions, just time to start using them to determine who we play every year... the fact is, as bad as we are, the eagles are 1 game better and have something to fight for.... a 10-6 or better team is going to have to visit very possibly a 10-6 team.:, sick of this garbage...

P.S, don’t care we made it in 2014 at 7-8-1, that crap was garbage and we got lucky and played THE ONE team that we had a a chance to beat...

ultimately, it’s a joke the Seahawks will possibly be 12-4 traveling to the 8-8 Eagles or Cowboys. Just time to recognize a broken system...the Panthers likely are better then 5-8 if in the NFC east....I’d rather play 15 conference games and 1 AFC game a year....

I kind of agree with you, but the nfl loves its rivalries and it makes for interesting games in the late season. I dont see them changing it any time soon unless they award 4 or so more franchises  soon.

Tom Brady and Bill have won a total of 4 road playoff games over their careers together, and I don't think have ever won a title when going on the road except for last season.

They struggle when they have to play away from home in the playoffs.
